Blackburn Service Departs Flinders Street Platform 9

In this video, we ride an X’Trapolis train from Flinders Street Platform 9 across lots of points at Richmond Junction to arrive at Richmond Platform 10 on a Blackburn Service. Typically trains towards Blackburn depart from Platforms 2, 3 and 4 at Flinders Street which is all the way on the other side. Filmed on June 21st, 2024. Hope you enjoy the video!

This was quite interesting to watch. I wonder if they might use other platforms for the burnley group more often in the future.

As a signaller I can safely tell you the only reason for this movement would have been the Xtrap to Blackburn had requirements at either Bayswater or likely Epping. Werribee off platform 4 would have been to balance the one for one swap.

Thanks for explaining. However that day all that happened was an Up Glen Waverley transposed into a late Down Frankston from P8 and an Up Williamstown transposed into a Down Blackburn from P9. No Werribee service was affected by it
