Visiting a real back country excursion site called the sink hole a gigantic cave that collapsed thousands of years ago to form a giant sink hole and water falls
My moose hunting area, know that country well. That warm up shack is actually getting a major renovation done to it now as we speak. Big addition , all new roof , grounds are all cleaned up around it. They are doing an awesome job. Thanks for the video Bob.
grey jays were so cool, beautiful area at the sink hole , deffinantly a long trip down into it but well worth it I feel. reminded me of a few areas around Toronto and Hamilton this way with the waterfall nice area to explore for sure. you could see the size of this one because you and your wife looked like tiny ants. what a great luch I see the gray jay's wanted some as well. I like the warm up shacks, we have them here in ontario for snowmobile's they are a good thing. what an awesome video really enjoyed the tour. Ontario, Canada .
Thanks for showing us some of the Newfoundland off road sites. Wish you success during your hunting season. Looked like a small moose skin under that trypod. I'm sure some animal will make use of it.
Them Jay's are some friendly lol. Usually takes a bit for em to warm up to ya but you must be special. They know the Newfoundland outsider is there friend.
What an absolutely amazing area! Will be heading over to Newfoundland the summer after the next...fingers crossed that all works out well. Thanks so much for sharing all the great tidbits of information! Indeed, a cup of tea for me and a banana for Otis...a must on every adventure. Awesome stuff!! Bruce and Otis
Public places should just have chalkboard painted walls and a bucket of colored chalk. Sure is pretty in there and the jays!! Those grey jays are the friendliest birds, they must have originated in Canada ❤😊
Wow that was a great spot, didn't realize it was so big until you got behind the falls, nothing like a cup of tea and a snack outside thanks for another great video.
Nice spot Bob! That’s a big hole. Take a lot of slab wood to fill that sucker. Those camp jays are so friendly. I bet you’re not the first to feed them. Lol. I agree with what you said. If you can’t take the time for tea you’re going too fast. So true. Wish my bosses at work could understand what it means. I really like your side by side. I will have one. Lol, that’s if my minister of finance agrees with the idea. Lol
Great video, that's quite the sinkhole I've seen pictures but it never did it justice like your video did. Excellent job. The whiskey jacks were pretty active too lol.
That is so cool they will eat right out of your hand‼️Thank goodness for the ropes to hold onto‼️WOW - that is a huge area and deep‼️ oh my goodness- going up is brutal‼️That was quite an adventure😊‼️
If that were in the US they would have cordoned it all off, commissioned a staircase with railings, and charged a fee to enter. That's nice you still have natural areas that haven't been red-taped and restricted by your government.
Hadn't thought of the acidic bog run off but I now recall being told that the Vikkngs at Lanse aux Meadows recognized this acid run off and were able to extract " bog iron" nodules and forge them into tools and weapons
The terrain looks bad, and the view is not great to look at either. It is a narrow waterfall with a lot of rocks that both of you have chosen to go see. If you both of you like waterfalls then I would recommend, for the both of you to travel to Niagara Falls. I been to Niagara Falls, and it has nice scenery, and the terrain is not bad to walk on. I never been to Newfoundland, but I seen better things to look at in Newfoundland on the internet.
@@thenewfoundlandoutsider6354 Have you seen everything newfoundland has to offer? The rest of the American continent should have different scenery, and on the other side of the world as well. I seen some scenery from different countries on the internet, so there should be lots to see, and it is not like Canada.
We love the Newfoundland sites, and seeing you with your wife again in the video. Keep them coming buddy, and let us see you playing your guitar. 😊❤
Allan Byrne is the musician. Check him out on RUclips.
You (and Denise) make such nice videos Bob. I can’t believe you don’t have more subscribers. ☮️💕
Spread the word 🙏

There are lots of free areas to explore in Newfoundland
@@thenewfoundlandoutsider6354lots of free areas all over Canada, thankfully! But hope to get to Newfoundland eventually.
Great video great to see you both

Thanks 👍
Cool stuff! 😀 😊
Thanks
Thank you Lord for our island paradise. And to you, Bob and Denise, for sharing it with the world.
Your welcome
That is one deep hole in the ground. I would be a bit nervous about descending into it. Thanks for sharing my friend.
Thanks
It bet you get a nice exfoliating shower standing under the waterfall. 😂
Lol yes
What are you feeding the jays? I used to through peanuts in the air for blue jays.
Granola bar
Show me the moose what happened with your hunting?
Working on it. Moose are scarce this year.
Thankyou
Welcome
What is the geology mechanism causing this. Generally surface water is poring through some soft rock into an underground river. What's going on here?
That's exactly what's happening here. Acidic bog water wore out the limestone and the granite stone roof of the cave colapsed.
Hadn't thought of the acidic bog run off but I now recall being told that the Vikkngs at Lanse aux Meadows recognized this acid run off and were able to extract " bog iron" nodules and forge them into tools and weapons
Wow. Would have been great to have a drone fly down there.
Yes indeed
I would not do that without leaving someone up there with a Satellite phone!
👍
Very interesting
Right
That's awesome
Thanks
Fun stuff
Thanks
Are you gonna take us to the Tablelands?
spring
