you are a brilliant angler and when you are on your own your talent shines through. i am 71 now and was brought up on the Hampshire Avon and Dorset Stour when rivers ruled. i do of course know that you are a very talented River angler. I wish you well
Clear and concise no nonsense video of your setup. Agree the landing net roller is a great idea as usually I end up resting mine on my bait bag as to not damage an expensive handle.
❤ your vids and infectious demeanour. Recently retired and looking too getting back into fishing, just wish I could spend a day or 2 fishing with u on the bank side🤗🙏🏼
I've never fished a match only fished for pleasure but someone on my local lake on Saturday told me to enter a match and have a go. the only reason I haven't is because I don't really know how it goes down. Are foul hooked fish not allowed to be retained?
@alandavies3727 I wouldn't even know where to start with equipment etc. I have my feeder rods and pole etc, but no keep nets or box etc. I would look a right fool 🤣
@@rock3786 I have recently joined the club at my local venue, I've been trying every swim over the last few weeks to see how they fish and where to fish and how to fish on those particular swims, ready for the winter matches to start.
What group of keepnets do you use on a match like that Andy, are they all the same, I need a set but haven’t done match fishing for a few years now, used to be 1 silvers 1 carp at the places I’m sure I’d be over net limit on a lot of venues now, what’s a good number to carry and which type please.
Like the way your just real in the vid, rushing to set upp loosing fish cause your on catch upp foul hooking ect we all talk too our selves when fishing matches as well ,putting ourselves under pressure lol good vid brilliant
@@supermax2214 Or maybe the bait like sweetcorn juice or pellet oils etc. All grows green stuff once its dried out a bit. Either way the point remains. Pro angler does not obsess over keeping there pole clean as its just a tool to them. To non pro anglers the pole gets babied a bit more and usually shinning clean. Walk a match and see
It's interesting seeing how Andy approaches an open water venue, a bit of a rarity... (Swan King of commercial snake lakes). Yup.... on open waters, that's the Andy I know...😂🤭
Unlucky Andy. Seems like the lost fish disease is catching. Happening more and more it seems. Well fished though. I agree that you would have thought that the waggler would have been more productive. Better luck next year mate. Keep the good stuff coming through the Winning Ways channel. Cheers
Obviously, you will get better competitive anglers but any competent angler has a chance especially with luck of the draw it's who can capitalise on that draw .
They're all true anglers. It's just innovation is all. I understand your point but everything moves forward. If you want true angling there's always fly fishing. I can't see poles ever getting big in that game ; )
Poor Andy, I watch a lot of RUclips videos & he pricks, looses & foul hooks more fish than any other ‘pro angler’ (or maybe the others just don’t show it on their videos?) 😂
Not the result you wanted but still you return home as fishing TV’s most enthusiastic, entertaining and best loved presenter 🥳👍
complimenti signor May...seguo sempre i suoi video che sono molto istruttivi..poi lei è molto simpatico! in bocca al lupo.... saluti dall'Italia 🇮🇹💪🏼🎣

Andy your great mate. I love all your videos. You’ve helped me transform my fishing. Your personality is incredible. Infectious. 👌🏻
I agree 💯
I find myself saying come on the fishies all the time now. 😂😂😂😂
Tough when you've not fished the venue. Still very informative with a positive attitude, certainly helps the rest of us. We're all learning still....
It's always a pleasure to watch your take on fishing, thoroughly enjoyed.

Fantastic video..👍
Come on Andrew let's see you in full mode for these qualifiers next year or even silvers over winter
Top match there mate 😊
Never mind Mr May, next time 🎣🎣
How are the qualifiers paid out is it from tickets entries or is paid out pool's like when paid on a open?
Unlucky but great angling and you are top man for entertainment value and great instructor
Could you please tell me what landing net size andy is using please. Thanks. Great vid as always
18inch Quick Dry

Foul hooked fish count. Have a go at match fishing. You’ll get taken apart but you’ll have some fun. And you have to start somewhere.
@alandavies3727 I wouldn't even know where to start with equipment etc. I have my feeder rods and pole etc, but no keep nets or box etc. I would look a right fool 🤣
@luketaylor92 everyone is so engrossed in their own thing I doubt anyone would even notice.
Join a club and do some matches then move on to opens when you have found your feet.

The Space Saver range are the most practical, especially when you require multiple nets.
@@UKprestoninnovations Thankyou much appreciated
Hi Andy
What are the end bungs you are using, and where can you please get them from

Why dont we have venues in Belgium like this

Sweetcorn and micros down the edge I would at least have a go
I had a shocker their that day. It started off by being given number 13 spoon for my breakfast order. Need i say anymore ? 😢
How do you spot a pro angler - His pole and side tray are turning green with mold
How to spot someone that’s not got a clue the side tray hope holes init so what u r seeing is the grass under it 😂
@@davidgraham8050 But the moldy bits are just in one area and if the tray has holes all over it the grass would show through all over it. Idiot.
His Pole isn’t moldy it’s all the stuff that floats on the surface the dries on the pole

I enjoyed the video. You can’t win them all. It’s taking part that counts. No it ain’t! Next time Andy.

Chasing shadows at the end Andy 😢
good try, need some luck as well
Well done Andy, not a bad result, but J-lad wouldn't have lost those fish..lol..
Basically it’s a competition for professional fisherman and amateurs don’t really stand a chance

Unlucky Andy, nice try loosing fish is a pain! section win though 😄👍
Must be Jamie’s wages😳
Such a shame how fishing has been bastardised by poles. It’s taken all the skill and knowledge real anglers used to have.

@BigTone91 no I understand perfectly what you meant. No need to explain.
I thought u were an MAP man Andy, gone to the dark side eh!?
He's been with us for nearly 2 years :D

That's because he is too slow to think like a fish!!
Bad luck Andy maybe next year you'll do better
Noooooooobody likes to see that
How on earth can any normal amateur fishing enthusiasts have a chance against professional fisherman who are sponsored
I dont understand how anyone can enjoy fishing a hole in the ground like that
No body likes to see that, slow sinking bubble
