TC: 6:43 Turbulence -- That is a big thing. The 2009 specs say 120mph. I got mine to 113 -115 mph. Handled like a sport bike. Very wind dependent with the TMax 2009. One has to be very ready for ' cross wind slap'. As an Inter-Ubran commuter, grocery grabber and date nite bike is where the 2009 Tmax shines.

I've owned one of these for many, many years, same model, although it might be a few years newer. All your comments are spot on. I live within a couple of miles of a major highway running along the shoreline. What I really like about this scooter is it gives you the ability to rip around back roads almost like a sport bike, you can easily ride it around town, and most importantly, easily use it on the highway... which will be an issue with most scooters. I'm 5' 11" and the seat is fine for me, but I have a friend that's ~5' 7" and the seat is a little too high for him. Likewise, the windscreen is about 1" - 1.5" too low for me to get out of the wind without lowering my head, this is my biggest gripe regarding the bike. One of these days I might opt to get the taller windscreen to extend the riding season comfortably. Other than that (and battery access being a PITA to get to), it's a great scooter/bike!

The previous owner of my 2009 Tmax put a windshield extender which works amazingly well for reducing the wind buffeting. It bolts on top of the stock windshield. I’m also 5’11”.

Tmax Freeway riding is fantastic at any speed under 100 mph and any corner even in stable way. But, for short trip in city, I prefer riding my Honda Elite 110 because Tmax high seat(actually very wide seat) with heavyweight makes me to hesitate to use it as city transportation. So, I think, Tmax is for long distance riding whereas Elite is for city transportation.

    • @akybosule

Ofc smaller u ride ,easier it gets. But once you rode motorcycles in town, tmax is heaven in comparation. I think Tmax its the perfect blend between beeing agile/light for town and still confy/stable for long trips.

Thanks for the nice review, I also have a 2009. Your range isn’t very good, I average about 60 miles per gallon which comfortably gives me over a 200 mile range. Is that you’re fuel mileage while driving strictly around town?

Wind protection is also one of the things riders want. Specially if you get a scooter that will be used as a commuting machine. And in the winter wind protection is your friend and will keep you much more comfortable.

Yeah it would, it doesnt have insane power. What you have to watch out for is the weight of the bike. It is a heavy bike. But very manageable power delivery for new riders. I think the size of it might put off new riders but easy to ride for sure.
