Daphne Moon, what a treasure 😂 there is no Frasier without Daphne. I'm telling you Frasier had one of the greatest supporting casts in television history. Frasier, Niles, Daphne, Martin, Roz, Eddie, Bulldog, Bebe, Kenny, Gil, and Noel were indispensable. The show wouldn't have worked if anyone was missing. Perfection!
Simon and Gertrude are the only characters I could do without. Don't get me wrong, Anthony LaPaglia and Millicent Martin did a great portrayal but I found their characters more obnoxious than funny. Oh and Lilith was great too. Always felt she was a series regular.

That said, what always gives me the giggles is that the writers of the show probably came up with half of the stories. But the other half usually based on stuff that actually happened to the writers or within their circle. I remember a documentary about Seinfeld where they brought up this subject. Funniest thing is figuring out which half is actually true, lol.
Alot of shows do that I find. Everybody Loves Raymond is famous for it, goes all the way back to The Dick Van Dyke Show with Carl Reiner asking the writers what happened at home that weekend. Real Comedy comes from truth.

Daphne Moon is an excellent character to have on Frasier. Brings a "get real" sense of perspective along with Martin Crane to offset the Hoity-Toity lifestyle of Frasier and Niles. Those stories she would spout on about at the right times to warm up the audience for the next scene. They even started treating this event like a special moment (in later seasons of the show). Like the part when Martin says " Is she done ?" or the oddball looks from the Crane men as the story unfolds when Daph starts/stops talking.
I can answer your question, since I am British. Very few of them actually have specific details or British culture, so really there is no relevance in the viewers nationality. They are still enjoyable.

Of all the main characters, for me she is/was the weakest and the most annoying! First, she was unstable and the slightest thing would set her off. Second, that Cockney accent is like nails on a chalkboard! Third, she brings nothing comedic to the table, her lines are all insulting and her punchlines are all based on her not getting/understanding something. Finally, what in the hell does a smart Dr. like Niles see in her? There are SO many actresses that could have been so much better in this role. I heard Rosie Perez was considered....THAT would have been fantastic!

Third, she brings nothing comedic to the table, her lines are all insulting and her punchlines are all based on her not getting/understanding something. Finally, what in the hell does a smart Dr. like Niles see in her? There are SO many actresses that could have been so much better in this role. I heard Rosie Perez was considered....THAT would have been fantastic!

So, Jane Leeves voice is like nails on a chalkboard to you, so you came to a video of her talking for 30 minutes? And, Rosie Perez? Like her voice isn't at all irritating.
