All these years later, I've yet to find a boss quite like Daimon from Dragon's Dogma. One that evokes simultaneously that feeling of an epic finale adventure boss, but also one that embodies the tragedy of a place like Bitterblack Isle. This theme song managed to mix both such overarching themes beautifully, making you simultaneously feel the source of dread of BBI but feel like a total badass hero/savior at the same time.
Hands down the best boss fight I've had in a game with this music, after Daimon sucked in all my pawns and it was just me left and he had 2 bars of health I knew I couldn't give up there and then it was vengeance!
@@CynohsCave The victim was Ashe, Daimon is the demon Ashe became after Dragon Grette "granted his wish" of not wanting to fight with Dragon Grette and not wanting to strike a bargain to sacrifice his beloved, Olra. Ashe wanted to destroy the unending cycle. Grette took this as a bargain anyway and transformed Ashe into the Daimon, sacrificing Olra. As Daimon, Ashe lost his sanity and became what he was now. Long story short, Daimon is a monster of some kind and a terrifying one at that cemented by the fact that it can live without Ashe inside it. Can you imagine that a Daimon might be "just another creature"? Horrifying.
Beating Daimon made me realize how pawns feel special near their Arisen, and the past Arisens dead, littered in Bitterblack Isle, their stories make sense now.
True. They don't really have a will of their own and can't do much without arisen, who are specifically picked by the Dragon for their extraordinary will. It's as if their arisen gives them life and personality. The Rift is also kinda cruel. Imagine being stuck in an empty void for aeons, without will nor purpose and with no choice but to wait until an Arisen picks you as their pawn. "Arisen, your command, please..."
I love how bitterblack isle was just ghouls 'n ghosts, to the point of the double playthrough xD Great game, and now that it seems like a lot of people are picking up on it, I can only feel like the next DD announcement is getting closer by the day.

This song and the fight is beautiful. I loved this dlc and it felt like an amazing finale to the game. With the moonlight shining through the ceiling and an epic battle between you and that awesome daimon. Love his story. I like him and I felt a bit sad fighting him. He saw the cycle and didn't want it to continue anymore. I actually don't like eternal cycles either. I adore this song and the atmosphere they created.
This game has such amazing storytelling. It demonstrates the absolute hopelessness of being "chosen". You don't have a choice, all you can do is just move on and perpetuate this broken cycle. If you try to change it or end it entirely, you will either face a gruesome death or you will cause the death of the entire world, potentially. Do you break the cycle? Who knows, all we know is that if you start NG+, you're still seneschal (possibly your pawn who has taken over for some reason). It's absolutely tragic and it's beautiful. I so hope that the sequel will be about breaking the cycle
Just beaten Daimon for the first time as a sorcerer (probably underleveled and underequipped, will not lie to you). I would still be raging from that fight if it wasn't for this gorgeous theme.
Believe me this music sounds better when you are in the actual boss fight with all your pawns fighting beside you. Not to mention the shouting and fx during the fight while the mysterious pawn talking in the background. The music is heroic, epic and magical at the same time.
The battle with the cross arena lunges by the boss and having to dodge while trying to flank and get some hits in is epic. Almost a dance to the death.

Dragon's Dogma has sucked my whole life this past month. This song is so good and feels fitting to the boss fight knowing the story between Olra and Ashe and the Arisens. Small tip for people struggling with 1st Phase Daimon's vortex suck move: you can use consumable magic such as surging light or goddess cameo to kick him out of the animation, surging light works better as he doesn't launch away after breaking the animation.

I think in the end Senechal before our Arisen was the most tragic character. He was crowned Arisen after dragon murdered his father and in his grief he summoned his main pawn in the form of his deceased father, after which, he battled the dragon, was worthy of the throne and couldn't get a rightful successor for (probably) thousands of years. Until we come around and end his long solitude as the Senechal, he is forced to live eternally as a Maker. I think that's even sadder in comparison, but, that's of course just my opinion. Some people say Death has the most tragic one, but, to each their own I suppose.
If Sakurai noticed Dragon’s Dogma, here’s a spirit battle against Daimon Rank: Ace (Can be enhanced into his Second Form as Legendary) (Type: Attack) Character: Bowser or Kazuya (if they do DLC characters) Condition: Enemy is Giant, Stamina (Have 500 HP), and enemy suddenly will have a Final Smash at random Stage: Temple or Find Mii Song: This! Allies: Three Mii Fighters (Brawler, Gunner and Swordfighter) (Sword have 200 HP, Brawler will have 170 HP and Gunner have 140 HP) Slots: 2 Skill when enhanced: Double Final Smash
I like how Daimon looks like Dracula, should they have the Arisen as a DLC Character in some new smash game, and they keep classic mode, the Arisen should have both rathalos and dracula as bossfights.
List of things that make DD MUCH better than any eldar scrolls game 1: Way better combat 2:Much better graphics 3: Linear story that's easy to follow but not too easy to where it ends up being unsatisfying (like elder scrolls) 4: Soundtrack omg the soundtrack 5:Nearly no part of the game is truly boring due to there being a multitude of random encounters (unlike elder scrolls) 6: The follower system. Need I say more? 7: Leveling up is more challenging but also much more rewarding 8:The end boss(s) are exactly that (unlike elder scrolls) 9:Much much more item and skill diversity 10: Nearly impossible to be close to being overpowered on your first play through (skyrim, I'm looking at you) And I could list quite a few more but I believe I've made my point. My pawns died in the initial blackhole :( So I soloed him by dire gouging his thigh lol (a bit over-leveled honestly at level 108 when I got to this guy)
I have too, and oh was it such a wonderful moment to land the final blow. I created my Arisen to be me and my Pawn to be my oldest brother, someone I look up to a lot, and to land the final blow on Daimon for the very first time with me and my brother was so heartwarming to me. It really made me happy to complete the fight, and it meant a lot to me even if my brother wasn't there to see.
You'll level faster by yourself. Get the assassin perk autonomy, switch to ranger class, tenfold arrow + blast arrows + conquerors prias or the dose of strength + red concotion combine item x4 and you literally kill him in 3 shots. It's better to farm death though once you beat daimon the first time. There's a trick with the Godsbane where you can summon death 100% of the time and with the above combo you can kill death in 2 encounters in about 10 seconds.
All of Bitterblack Isle- Abominable eldritch horror that defies Euclidean geometry, fit to drive one to madness. Daimon- Pop Music. Almost forgot this was a J-RPG for a second.

2. Cheese
3. Change class noob
What? You wanted to do it this easily? Do it proper ya wimp, pick fighter/warrior and WELCOME TO THE DOMINATENING!
For extra cheese I found that throw blasts are amazing against this boss! And I'm level 111!
Works wonders on normal. Hard mode Daimon on the other hand... he laughs at blast arrows. Normally I would do phase 1 legit in like 3 mins then stun lock phase 2 with blast arrows to avoid Seism spam but Hard mode had other plans even at level 200 lol
I heard a second game is coming, i should play the first one again before it is realeased :P.
I wish there was a fight as great as this in the Second Game
The most saddest song for boss. Its like battle of no hope
I'm the only one crying here?.....
No
We are too Kaz, we are too......
We are too cool
no
No :'c
Damned the dragon, damned the arisen
It gave me a chill while fighting daimon with his blabbing and sad theme
Dragon's Dogma has sucked my whole life this past month. This song is so good and feels fitting to the boss fight knowing the story between Olra and Ashe and the Arisens.
Small tip for people struggling with 1st Phase Daimon's vortex suck move: you can use consumable magic such as surging light or goddess cameo to kick him out of the animation, surging light works better as he doesn't launch away after breaking the animation.
Blast Arrow Tenfold Flurry goes brrr... In all seriousness though probably my favourite theme in the entire game.
This dungeon was on-par with old-school final fantasy endgame final boss dungeons!
Anyone else have that moment of "OLRA! NOT NOW! SHUT THE HELL UP!" When she wanted to dump exposition during an epically tense boss fight🤦🏽♂️
Everytime Olra talked, it inspired me to keep fighting even though I was on the ropes. She even gives you full heals everytime she talks!
@@Demonai_Warrior Ha! Really? I never noticed 🤣 I was doing a solo warrior build with underpowered weapons on hard, so I needed ABSOLUTE focus 😬 its cool but id rather hear that stuff before the fight not during. It's good stuff but trying to focus on that, the fantastic music AND the fight is too much for me 😆
I remember my first time spending like 3 hours trying to beat this guy because it was so new and this song never got old during the entire time. Too bad that I kill him in like 2.5 seconds trying to farm XP for when I want to speed level new characters now, 4x weil and 4x conqs pariapts, straight cheese man.
WE NEED A EXTENDED VERSION
First time fighting him: meh song...typical "epic boss" music for a japanese game
@1:36 : holy shit this just got epic
i was ignoring it till i hear the line "my arisen", then i started listening... that's when the tears started coming
the pawns have all been sucked into the rift
4 bars of life remaining
ive got 6 wakestones left
and am a less than optimized sorcerer
but i did not stop
darksouls trained me for this
remain calm, push the lastitude, and stack the miasma
took 2 hours but diamon fell...
Thank you, this version suits me best.
yes
When you facing him on second time and you realize he have second phase..
I beated this guy when he sucked all of my pawns and he has 5 health bars left,And I have 4 periapts left and a liquid vim,I put up my enraged gameplay and luckily I landed on his face. And I massacred him to death while I'm being hit with Ice spells.DAMN!!!! I got him.And I was at 88 Ranger vocation.
If you finish Bitterblack Isles and The Everfall, you learn that if the Arisen completes the cycle with an unbroken will, their pawn gains a will of their own and possibly a soul.
I have raged and rought destruction
None shall remain
This strength, is this power of your will to fight!?(I think that's the line)
Bitter black isle left me feeling... Empty
Farming Daimon with an Assassin who's built to stab things. Conq priapts and liquid vims + Dire Gouge and he goes down pretty easy.
I love this song very much!
i can see my arisen get humbled by daimon roundhouse kick
If the arisen became dragons like Gregory and the ur dragon then how did this special one become the Daimon.
Due to a wish
Ahh thanks
Instead of choosing either choice of the Dragon (Grette)'s Bargain, he let out only a Curse in reply, in granting him his cursed form, the Dragon (Grette) stuck to its Bargain, & Olra was the Price.
I hope im not the only one who sings along to this while fighting Daimon
You're not alone chief
I did too pal.
I would tottaly buy this game again in xbox one, shit i'm so dumb. But this is awesome. One of the best boss battles i had. And this song sticks like glue
"You have found him"
I always save my main pawn from being sucked by grabbing her and eating a ton of mushrooms
OMG why didnt i think of it
I shoot Daimon in the head, stunning him and saving all of my pawns.
There's a dirty joke in there somewhere.
@@remageek I usually just jump on him and slash at his head
I usually fight Daimon next to the throne, and every time I see him jumping away at the centre of the arena, I know that he's about to do his succ atack, so I just run away from him, spaming "come" comand, it usually saves all the pawns
As I wander, cold and immane
whither now my mother, my flame.
And along the coils of light,
the life I desire.
"Anon must we part"
Words like a dart, red and dire,
eyne that accoyed with their heat.
O! How I have seen the Dragon's Dogma!
Unbound by time, all-binding, grand design,
Land and skies and seas yearn,
finish the Cycle of Eternal Return.
When thou pulledst this boy from the sand,
didst thou see him bearded, with brand?
And within the coils of light, when our blades took flight-
What future didst thou envision?
As I keep this frozen demesne,
whither now my mother, my flame;
And along the coils of light,
the life I desire.
NO PATHS LEAD HENCE!
REPENT THE FOLLY OF ASCRIBING MEANING TO THE VOID!
NOUGHT SHALL REMAIN!
I will never forgive the japanese for getting this stuck in my head. Great game, honestly
Daimon has one of the most tragic villain origin stories, I was actually crying during the whole boss fight
Man you can also feel the vibes of nier automata in this ost.
The whole dark arisen expansion has a yoko taro vibe tbh.
shut the FUCK up lmao it's nothing like nier, fuckin tard that didn't even know the series existed until automata released
Drakengard
If Sakurai noticed Dragon’s Dogma, here’s a spirit battle against Daimon
Rank: Ace (Can be enhanced into his Second Form as Legendary) (Type: Attack)
Character: Bowser or Kazuya (if they do DLC characters)
Condition: Enemy is Giant, Stamina (Have 500 HP), and enemy suddenly will have a Final Smash at random
Stage: Temple or Find Mii
Song: This!
Allies: Three Mii Fighters (Brawler, Gunner and Swordfighter) (Sword have 200 HP, Brawler will have 170 HP and Gunner have 140 HP)
Slots: 2
Skill when enhanced: Double Final Smash
I like how Daimon looks like Dracula, should they have the Arisen as a DLC Character in some new smash game, and they keep classic mode, the Arisen should have both rathalos and dracula as bossfights.
Gotta love cheesing him with Preirapts and blast arrows
Just defeated Daimon
Hehehe wait till you fight his second form
indeed
@@ardyn407necroderg What second form !!!!!!!!!
i just defeated him ( don`t spoil too much )
@@phoenixedits8960 go through it again my brother you will see
Honestly gave me Nier Automata vibes when I first played this.
if you didn't know already, this is sung by a boy
List of things that make DD MUCH better than any eldar scrolls game
1: Way better combat
2:Much better graphics
3: Linear story that's easy to follow but not too easy to where it ends up being unsatisfying (like elder scrolls)
4: Soundtrack omg the soundtrack
5:Nearly no part of the game is truly boring due to there being a multitude of random encounters (unlike elder scrolls)
6: The follower system. Need I say more?
7: Leveling up is more challenging but also much more rewarding
8:The end boss(s) are exactly that (unlike elder scrolls)
9:Much much more item and skill diversity
10: Nearly impossible to be close to being overpowered on your first play through (skyrim, I'm looking at you)
And I could list quite a few more but I believe I've made my point. Oh wait one more thing...
It was made by a MUCH better video game company, my time here is done
ok so get the first line... think about what your saying... any elder scrolls game... ANY...
@@chrittle4892 Pretty much. I have played and beaten them all, and I love them (not including es online). I'd even consider myself a "bethestard" lmao. But some things are just better, and this is just one of those things
ok but who cares
@@SkullOfTheRaven oh shit you've played all of em? fuck me dead
@@chrittle4892 Lmao Arena was interesting to say the least
such a fuckin good game. I beat him first try with assassin. The skill that augments strength whilst solo works will. paired with dire gouge and conquerers periapt....easy.
My pawns died in the initial blackhole :(
So I soloed him by dire gouging his thigh lol (a bit over-leveled honestly at level 108 when I got to this guy)
Just wait until you reach Awakened Daimon, 108 is pretty UNDER leveled for that monster
I wonder if the sequel will ever top Dragon’s Dogma 1’s amazing yet crazy soundtrack.
Dangan
Best music game
Sounds like its straight outta NieR: Automata
I beat this guy just with my pawn
I have too, and oh was it such a wonderful moment to land the final blow. I created my Arisen to be me and my Pawn to be my oldest brother, someone I look up to a lot, and to land the final blow on Daimon for the very first time with me and my brother was so heartwarming to me. It really made me happy to complete the fight, and it meant a lot to me even if my brother wasn't there to see.

Beated as a magick archer.
Mhw iceborn x dragons dogma
Fatalis sits menacingly
Arisen grabs fatalis
Arisen just like daimon laughs evilly
i tried to use the maker's finger on this guy
Why does this music gives off a 'Beauty and the Beast' vibe
0:27 Do I hear boss music?
U will level up way faster with just u and your pawn
Lie Das on the ps3 years ago i solod him XD at the scnd time as assasin at night. was around lvl 120 and got 10 lvls up with xp boost
This should’ve been the phase 2 theme honestly
People say he has a second form
i just defeated him and i just wanna know what they mean

Daimon- Pop Music. Almost forgot this was a J-RPG for a second.
The guy in the image is a noob. Daimon is resistant to magic!
i can still kill him in 15 seconds with magick archer
