The guy's a beast, he just lets everything out.
I'm just impressed he acted so well. Lewis is a huge goofball, and has a hard time being serious. And to see him really connect to the song was sooo precious to witness.
This song is actually not about a breakup, although the video is. He wrote this song after his grandmother passed away and he just wrote a song about a loss in general. Thank you for the reaction, though! It is always interesting to see, how differently people relate to the song.
He did say he went through this though. So yes, it can be about that.
When I first heard the song 100% first thought was break up. Then I saw the video he did with Peter Capaldi and cried like a baby and then called my mama lol
Yeah the vid is about his love passing away and him wanting to follow her if you know what i mean and his friends keeping him alive
I always saw this music video as more of a spouse passing away and dealing with the grief in your time and dealing with all of the people who are rushing you to move on before your ready. Especially the scene where the woman looks back at him with peace: no hostility, no bitterness or any emotion associated with a bad breakup.. Maybe that is a stretch but that was my interpretation.
I loved before you go! And this is another legendary hit from him...
The original music video makes me cry every time
HEADSPACE - LEWIS CALALDI
i've been a fan of his since he first releases in 2017, headspace HITS DEEP on a whole new level, listen to the acoustic of it!!!!!
Lewis Capaldi has another video for this song with Peter Capaldi in it. It makes me cry like a baby every time I watch it. Beautifully depressing video😭❤
I read this as someone who loved him and cared for him had died. He wants to be with them again (when he turns back to follow). But friends and family keep holding him back and keeping him going. 🖤
Thank you Laura! This makes so much sense. And is so powerful! What an amazing talent!
There's another video featuring his cousin Peter Capaldi (aka the 12th Doctor) which shows its more about the death of someone
The emotion in his voice is so powerful!💖
You need to watch the official video. it brings a whole different, and heartbreaking meaning. also the man at the begining is Peter Capaldi, his cousin, but also Dr Who!!
I interpret the song/ video as someone he loved has died. The people stopping him from following her is symbolic to him thinking he was willing to die also to be with her.
there is an alternative video to this song, which stars Peter Capaldi (the twelfth Doctor Who,) which is just emotionally devastating - if you ever decide to watch/react to that one as well, be prepared for a HEFTY kick in the feels. I won't spoil it, but it's like you can see all these different things going on, but for about three-quarters of the video you're not quite sure how they all connect... and then, in the last minute or so, there's this moment where all the pieces of the puzzle drop into place at once - and it feels like being hit by a truck. Brilliant video, made for a wonderful cause.
What a voice and what a sad song
Honestly I just feel so validated having someone else have the same reaction to this song that I had. LOVE the grit of his voice ugh ♥️ goosebumps every time!
He honestly is a lot like Adele, all he needs is a piano and/or whatever instruments he chooses and his voice for his songs because his songs are phenomenal. He doesn't need the extra fluff or even circus act he is phenomenal by himself. Not many song artists can do or say that.
Love your comment. Totally agree. Voice and piano. So pure. So perfect!!!!
So much emotion there🥺
This is the third metal guy vid I’ve watched and I get goosebumps at all the same times he does.
I read that he wrote the actual song as an outlet to deal with his grandmother passing but the video's meaning is quite different. In the video the girlfriend has died and Louis feels too depressed to go on without her and all of the people are his friends stopping him from chasing after her on the other side💕
Scotland's finest Son 🏴🎤
ALL HIS SONGS, HE BRINGS IT.
i luv how how u react to different songs in sch a true and sincere way in spite of wat genre it is .. seeing as its metal that you're into originally.. ...
Thank you Michelle! I listen to metal and hard rock probably 85% of the time. I’m currently cranking some Testament 🤘🏼But I’ve always been super into rock history. I’ve read countless books on bands from Bob Dylan to The Supremes to Ratt 😆 I just find the history to be so fascinating!
@@MetalGuyReacts that's a completely different combination lol the supremes .. i do luv me some Bob dylan and i,ll need to check out the one you're listening to jst now .. Testament is it ! i,ll find it somehow , you're a very interesting type of guy keep on doing you , always ! ✌️❤️ i'm more of a hippie sort lol defo born in the wrong era !
Love your classic mic. Ive one tatted on my back with notes and flowers and two pistols and banners saying "the song lives on". In memory of my dad who was a musician. I sing. Sister can play whatever you put in front of her. It was like he was here watching too. .....its the little things. Brava
His song Bruises and Hold Me While You Wait are amazing. Definitely check those out!
I still cannot believe this lost Song of the Year. Billie and Finneas could have let him have this and still smashed the records they deservingly did.
So nice to see your reaction to the wonderful
Lewis Capaldi 🇺🇸♥️
He totally looks like Paul McCartney. Same gene pool for sure! Watch Lewis Capaldi acoustic “Before You Go” at Abbey Road too! Love you😘
you should listen to bruises and hold me while you wait by lewis capaldi (:
Lewis actually made two videos for this song, this one featuring him, and another one featuring his cousin Peter Capaldi (best known as the 12th Doctor on Doctor Who). I'd recommend looking that one up too
I love this song
Lost on you hits me right in the gut. The live performance where he is just sitting on a stool in a room made me weep!
Think about the perspective of someone dying and him wanting to follow them into death. Everyone else is trying to get him to stay and trying to keep him alive.
6:57 yup! I agree!
I saw this in another comment but I would definitely love to see a reaction to Lewis Capaldi - Grace! I just found your channel, Thankyou for the awesome content!
The original video with his cousin Peter Capaldi (the 12th Doctor) for this song is utterly heartbreaking
The way he puts out the raw emotions TT I'm crying watching reactions, incredibile
This song was kind of the soundtrack for my last breakup, and you’re exactly right, it immediately transports me back to that place. So powerful.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU!. I've Loved This Song Long Before This Reaction Video Craze But Have Watch Several Of Them And You Are The First To Absolutely Understand The Song AND Video. The Turning Back To Her And His Friends. ♡♡
I love Lewis. He is an excellent writer but also has a great sense of humour. I feel like you should experience that side of him too. You should check out Grace, it was one of his first songs and the video shows his lighter side.
This is my first time seeing you channel. I love your attitude, your charisma, your intelligence, just your overall demeanor. Easy sub. Keep grinding man! Good on you.
This song sent me back to when I had to put my dog down. Even years later, I cry. She had cancer and we tried so hard to make her ok but it was impossible. She died in my arms.
I’m sorry to hear this. I lost an amazing dog years ago as well. I think about him often.
Lewis makes me proud to be British and I love both your reactions to both his songs. There's a short clip of him being interviewed by Graham Norton which you should take a quick gander at when alone just to see a bit of his personality 🇬🇧🌹oh and now I am going to subscribe. Anyone who has a Metallica wall hanging in their reaction video gets my vote!
Great reaction. Watch the live official video for bruises you will not be let down!!
Hi Jordan! I did react to that one and it was awesome. It also got blocked by RUclips ☹️ I’m working on a place to set up my blocked videos. Stay tuned!
subscribed for the lewis capaldi and nf reactions! love your breakdowns of each song you listen to! you should definitely react to lewis capaldis live version of his song tough and nfs song paid my dues (super hype song)!
I recommend headspace and hold me while you wait by him!
You should watch the other video for this song if you want to ugly cry
I was so disappointed he was watching this one. Instead of the one with Peter Capaldi. Its sooooooo much better.
I’m glad he watched this version because I don’t think my emotions could cope with the other one... I did literally ugly cry when I watched it 😭😭😭
@@Sarah-Harvey I ugly cry EVERY time I see the Peter Capaldi video to this song! Sometimes I just do it when the song comes on the radio.
@@dianneaho8682 Same! The song is sad enough but that video takes it to a whole other level! 😭 x
Such a good video to the song just to have a cry, feels good to let some tears flow sometimes just to have a break from things.
Amazing reaction as usual, even though this song is somewhat overplayed on the radio (atlest here in Sweden) it's still one of my favorites of Lewis. You might get a few comment saying you reacted to the "wrong" music video, since there's two of them, but personally I like this one better. Don't get me wrong, the other music video is great too, but I think the song shines better in this video, while in the other one, the story of the video take over a bit. And to me, the image of Lewis in the end, singing his heart and hurt out and finally moving on without help, gives me the chills. 😭😊
can we talk about the way you summed up the song in the end " that was lewis capaldi doing someone you loved" ? XD
Years ago I did a little bit of radio work. I think it stuck with me 😂 😂
@@MetalGuyReacts just for the laughs it gave me after such a beautiful and almost heartbreaking song, you get a like and subscribe my man.
Please do Bruises next, it’s another that really shows off his incredible vocals ❤️ xx
i'm a metalhead to,but this song hurts me maaaan.....the lyrics and his voice wow
His voice is so solid. I went through a really bad break up when I was in my mid 20s. A lady put my heart through a shredder and this song took me right back there.
The crazy part is that people told me the song was written about his grandmother and losing her. That’s a wonderful thing about well written tunes is they become universal. This song is about loss and love, two universal experiences 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Check out his other video for this song featuring his uncle, Peter Capaldi. Who different perspective on the song and is amazing!
Lewis Capaldi is one of those guys that would KILL any genre effortlessly man
Love your reaction!
The girlfriend in the video died and he's depressed and wants to join her. The people blocking him are his friends stopping him from joining her 💔
I love that you compared Lewis to Paul McCartney! People usually tell him that he looks like Meatloaf, present day Meatloaf.😂
Pls do bruises by him. ❤️
Great reaction. Please watch the video for this song that has his uncle, Peter Capaldi, it will tug at your heart strings.
Would be great if you react to the other video for this song, starring Peter Capaldi (former Dr Who actor, and also a distant cousin of Lewis).
My goosebumps got goosebumps
that was lewis capaldi doin someone u loved~ metal guy
if uk uk
You should react to another version about an older relationship and idk if you've watched "doctor who" but there's an actor in the music video from doctor who. I bet you 100% you'll cry
If you like this one, you should see the video made for the same song, starring his cousin Peter Capaldi, made in support of organ donation. It really hits in the feels. You will want to watch it again and again to catch all the little nuances you missed the first time around.
Oh my you are right he does look like Paul McCartney! I like your style of the videos, you pause the video to say what you think and you don't talk over the song, but at the same time you don't constantly pause it which can be really annoying. Great job!
If you like the live/acoustic stuff that Lewis does even better....then check Bruises official Live video.....and Someone You Loved at london road fire station....incredible!!
He posted this on my birthday
Lewis is definitely an artist that is worthy of goosebumps. Great reaction. I would love to hear your thoughts on Dermot Kennedy - Power Over Me. 💙 from Texas!
maybe you should watch the music video for Lewis's song "Grace" cause it really shows his different, funny side. Capaldi is super depressing when it comes to lyrics, but in real life he's just hysterical 😁
He has a song with Jessie Reyez called Rush which is really good. If you don't know who Jessie Reyez is I encourage you to look at her catalogue, specifically Gatekeeper (although all her songs are amazing). Love your channel 😀
You should react to Bruises
Aww I wish you had chosen the other video for this, it's heartbreaking.
Awesome reaction bud. You should check out his other songs Bruises, Let it roll and Hold me while you wait. They are fantastic 😎👍and you have to watch the video for Grace. It's hilarious 😎👍
There is another video for this song and it has his cousin, the great Peter Capaldi in it. It's worth a look 😎👍
Please check out Forever by Lewis as well! One of my favorites for sure
I understand what you're saying but first and foremost is the magic melody writing . It's at a very high level ..lol
Can you please please do Bruises i love that song
Also just to add it would be great for you to listen to The Verve The drugs don't work or Bittersweet Symphony 2 awesome tunes from the 90's 🇬🇧🌹
Please do his song Grace. The music video introduces you to a different side you him. It's also a fantastic song. This song (Someone you loved) also has another video to it, which is a lot more hard hitting. It stars Peter Capaldi who happens to be a distant relative of Lewis. You should certainly check that out as well. =)
He explained that he wrote this song about his grandmother after she passed away, after he had to address it because his ex girlfriend was on love island and everything thought it was about her
Loved the reaction but I really hope those Goosebumps selections were intentional.
Louis has recently been diagnosed with Turrets syndrome. he also suffers from anxiety. He is totally real about everything and true to his Scottish self deprecating, piss taking, character is very humourous. He looks absolutely nothing like Paul McCartney😂 never has, never will.🤣
This is about his granny ❤
If you like deep vocalists, you gotta check out "The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie" by Colter Wall. He was so young to be singing something so deep and its incredible.
I think you'd like his song bruises
Please check out his Stripped version of "Bruises" It's incredible and better than the official mv
Lewis Capaldi is Awesome! Check out Lewis singing "Tough ( ruclips.net/video/dldLvSIkNws/видео.html)". He sounds awesome in this song... well, actually, in every song. lol.
Please listen to “Bruises” by Lewis Capaldi! If you want to hear his vocals hit a whole new level this is the song :)
I would LOVE to see you react to Lukas Graham with you're not there as you seemed to like emotional and meaningful songs!
Pls do hold me while you wait by him❤️
Hi, again!
Since you're already in the UK (musically), what about a reaction to "Black" (Live from the Brits 2020) by Dave? 😉
I'm very curious, what you'd think of this song with its strong lyrics and its wonderful presentation live on stage.
Bruises is also amazing 🙂
I love love love this song. But I actually love A.C.E’s cover more. ACE is one of my favorite kpop groups...their dancing, their gorgeous vocals. They do a lot of covers and the three main vocalists covered this song and managed to make it better, which I didn’t think was possible. But three part harmony. 😭😭😭
He is awesome🔥 If you want to check out a live version of this song you should watch his preformance on Ellen 🖤
Forever- Lewis Capaldi
If you liked Lewis Capaldi so far, you will probably like James Arthur too. Check out his Say you won't let go. 1 billion views on youtube and streams on Spotify.
Lewis is iconic
It's not a break up song his grandma died
I think
Xo the host and life of the party by the weekend are absolute bangers
You should check out: 'Ed Sheeran Best of - When live performances get close to the pinnacle of perfection'. It is a 23 minutes video but it is amazing. The best live performances you will ever see. It is worth your time, I promise
Great reaction! If you like powerful vocalists you need to check out Dermot Kennedy. His live performances are amazing. Try his npr tiny desk concert or mahogany sessions.
At 1:28 of yr vid, that's his real-life brother Anthony pulling him up from the bench.
Man you need to react to, Zoe wees control mahogany session! She has such insane power you’ll love it!!!!
Pleaseee react to his songs bruises and grace which is so underrated
If you're interested in music with serious lyrics but a more upbeat rhythm, try a pretty obscure band called Voxtrot. Try Whiskey and Water (or just Whiskey) or The Start of Something. Both would work I think.
Lewis Capaldi wish you the best please
