- Great fishing continues for the Central Jersey Coast. Now's the time to get out and go fishing with both beach and boat anglers getting in on the hot action with striped bass of all sizes.

No luck last weekend but only had about 2 hours in the afternoon there. First time saltwater fishing its good stuff! Im a freshwater guy so salt is different for sure! How long do the fish take to move down the coast? Like is it a month by month thing? This month they're in LBI and next further south like OC or Sea Isle? Or will they be in the LBI Seaside region until the new year?
It's really hard to say. Some days the fish pop up and start in an area and then move in a direction with the tide or the wind (or against it) and then the next day they start up in the same area and work in the same direction almost like a hamster wheel. Other times they move down the beach /coast in waves moving through and past. Weather, temperature, bait and the calendar all have a lot to do with it. LBI should have fish the rest of this month and historically speaking most all of December. As far as other areas, that is out of my wheel house.
