Velux solar window battery replacement, Velux won't sell the battery on its own for velux windows 2014 onwards, they want you to buy the kitset which at over £200 is expensive for something that a battery swap can usually fix!

Thanks very much for this. 2 Years ago had two of our three Velux Integras stop due to power problems. Suspected it was just the battery but had to get someone in to fit the whole replacement kit at a cost of £380 per window (kit + labour). This year the third window stopped and, finding it even harder to find someone to do the replacement, thought let's just try the battery itself and follow your video. Bought the battery off you for £90ish and installed it ourselves as per your instructions - it worked ! Was a bit fiddly but we got there in the end. Found there was no need to remove the solar panel, just disconnected it when removing the motor unit. Thanks - you saved us about £300 ! It is a real shame that Velux do not make it easier to simply replace the battery, because as you say, in all probability it is the problem and not anything else. They could have easily designed the unit to enable that to happen. However, pleased you were around !

So glad you have shared this. Had a number of GGL solar velux windows that have stopped working. tried to reset and have contacted velux with the answer being £200 replacement kit. Could you share the model number of the other genuine battery that is compatible

I can’t find where the battery is! The blind comes up, but won’t go down, and the other velux doesn’t work! Only 5 years old GGU SK06….. I tried the reset button….. is the battery next to the reset? I can see no openings! Thanks for any reply!
