I now understand your description in Peter's video about plowing. One horse walks down in the furrow and the other horse walks above the furrow on higher ground. I understood the concept once I watched you plow. I am amazed at how deep the plow goes. I was raised on a farm here in Texas. We had a very old tractor. It worked almost as good as your two horses and you work. I think your method is much better.
Those are some very well trained horses. Nice to see horses working instead of being kept in a stall their whole life.

I enjoyed this video so much and the wonderful plowing example of how like the plow blade hitting a rock or tree roots or stump , disrupting the smooth plow work with your horses ,we need to get those rocks and roots out of our own garden of the heart . I love how you showed that teaching from the Bible . Your friends who taped for you with the cute kids made it so enjoyable to see their interest . Thank you, I came only to see if I could adapt the horse plow to use behind my lawn tractor, but I took away much more. Thank you for reminding me that the best faith is the one lived daily and not the one put on for Sunday morning.
Paul, I've used a horse drawn plow behind a lawn tractor to bury coax cable and water hose.

Excellent Simple Gospel Message! We need prospective pastors unstead of going to seminary, to go to a farm for a couple of years and live down with the soil and with the animals. It would make them so much better people, and better servants, and better pastors than wasting time in seminary learning to dispute with other of their kind about the authenticity of scripture, or whether there is a heaven or a hell, or whether Jesus is divine, and blah, blah, blah, ad infinitum,mad nauseum.

I love watching your videos, but I cringe at how difficult farming is with horses.
I'm 74, so maybe that's why I'm so in awe.
If it were I, I would design a plow with wheels, a seat to ride on and a mechanism to allow me to adjust the depth, but it's not I, so all I can do is watch.

I was wondering if mowing and feeding the winter rye or plowing under for nutrients which would be more beneficial. Or is it 6 of one, half dozen of the other? Your thoughts please and thank you.
Douglas Walters it depends winter rye has a small window of time to be harvested for dry hay that’s why many farmers put it up green for silage either way you can’t really lose because it makes excellent green manure

Is there a smaller plow or tiller that I could use with a single large cob type pony/small horse? I’d just like to be able to lightly prep the pasture for winter grasses and lightly cultivate the garden. Also, where do you buy horse drawn farm and garden equipment? I have sandy soil that isn’t too difficult except for some roots.
I’d also like to find a seeder to broadcast the pasture,too.
