Congratulations on reaching a full year on these videos! You have to do a best of 2024 list. I always use the end of the year to catch on media that I missed. I have been heavily enjoying Vince Staples' Dark Times. I think I like Ramona Park a little more. I'm trying to place how I rank GNX next to all Kendrick's other work. It's excellent, of course. But I haven't landed where I feel about comparatively. Otherwise, I have been visiting older pop rock albums like Til Tuesday, George Harrison, and a lot of Leonard Cohen. It's always a pleasure to hear your passion for music.

@@fruitfulcraven You always boost your friends, but do you play any instruments? I love Vince for his dark sense of humor. He's the straight guy in a comedy that is always just being serious but somehow ends up being the funniest guy in the film. GNX is just a fun party album. I'm learning more about R&B from the samples alone (If This World Were Mine by Cheryl Lynn and Luther Vandross is a gem). I think you should talk about all your favorite media from the year including music, film, games, and books. But time is short, I know lol.
@ i do not play any instruments no. i have messed around on the guitar in the past and have a basic understanding of it but that is about it. im sure i will give the vince and kendrick albums another listen at some point. i love finding new music from samples. i have experienced that a lot with death grips and jpegmafia. doing year end lists of all that stuff is a fun idea but i just dont take in enough of media other than music to make a solid list of them. thanks for suggesting it though!

I want to get into Ka and Denzell Curry. I just didn't have the patience jet. Full of hell, opeth, kendrick lamar, blood incantation are on rotation for me alot.

@fruitfulcraven kendrick and opeth i know the old stuff anyway. blood incantation's new album is really good, and now i listen to the older stuff as well. Same for full of hell. They have some interesting collab albums to dive into. "Full of hell & nothing" is very different from their other stuff for example.
@ i haven’t really been digging kendrick’s new album that much. just not my favorite style from him. i loved mmatbs and damn which are the two i go back to the most. i have tried the new blood incantation album but it hasnt clicked with me and i dont find myself going back to it. i have been listening to an album the past few days by a band called “bedsore” that has been really intriguing me. its like a 70s prog album with black/death metal mixed in with it. im not usually a fan of stuff like that but their new album has been pulling me back for some reason. my best friend is really into full of hell. they are right up my alley but i rarely find myself listening to them. maybe they will click with me one day and i will dig through their discography more
@@fruitfulcraven "mr morale" is really intense. "We cry together" is Genius. "Damn" is my least favorite. "Good kid mad City" is my favorite. Gnx is just pure fun. Tpab is overrated. The repeating poem and interludes are annoying me. The whole drake beef stuff is just childish. Full of hell scratches the same itch like converge does. This insane furiosity. Blood incantation just worked for me insantly, the black metal 70's prog blends perfectly. I will check this other band out you mentioned.
@ it is an intense album. “mother i sober” always manages to make me cry. i like damn because it had a lot of hip hop sounds that i fell in love with in my teens. gkmc was the first album i listened to by him and it is very good. the poem interludes in tbab dont bother me at all because of how it leads up to the ending. i dont think it is overrated i just prefer other sounds he has on other albums. definitely check out the bedsore album. if you like the new blood incantation i am sure you will like it
