I’m typically a silent viewer. As a social worker, I completely appreciate you being open and honest with everyone about your struggles with mental health currently and trying to figure out what is best for you. I do feel like it needs to be said that I don’t think you should talk about a certain disorder that you think you may have Without being diagnosed. It can be really damaging to your viewers who may have some of those same tendencies, and now they are panicked that they may have a disorder. A lot of those tendencies that you explained are very normal and/or can be explained by other things. Again, I appreciate you being open and honest, and I always recommend a therapist to everybody. I just do not recommend speaking About specific disorders without a diagnosis. If you do get a specific diagnosis down the line, I think it could be very helpful to people for you to explain your symptoms then but without a diagnosis you could be spreading false information about OCD.

In the past Allisa has mentioned that her therapist has told her she has OCD tendencies. Hence the verbiage. I can't recall the vlog name, but it was during the pandemic when they were living in the apartment. Maybe someone else will find it. Oh, it has also been mentioned a number of times in the podcast.
As a long time viewer, I have noticed that Allisa is open to correcting herself. I feel, if she were or weren't diagnosed by a specialist she would be open about that as well. Which is something I appreciate. She did also put out disclaimers that she wasn't officially diagnosed but feels she does have the tendencies, hence she is pursuing a professional opinion.

Ocd tendencies are a common sign of other things like adhd and autism. You stretching your neck isnt odc... its a tick/stim. Also a sign of adhd and autism. Im not a professional but I have spent 13 years navigating these with my son so I have a fair bit of experience. I dont see ocd on its own. But I would suggest you look into adhd and autism. Those lines blur a lot and look very similar which is why Im mentioning them together. Without help from a proffessional you cant accurately diagnose anything.

Simply naming symptoms that align with a OCD diagnosis does not mean you have it. Also saying things like “I can be a better person” can be so harmful to people who may find themselves relating to you. I understand this is your channel and you are speaking on your thoughts and experiences, but please be careful with what you say. You have this platform, and your words carry a lot of weight. Hey liss! I just want to share some of the things I deal with as someone with ocd! I was diagnosed with OCD in 2015. I realize now that I have had it since I was a young child. Some of the things I deal with every day from my ocd are obsessive horrible intrusive thoughts. This year I have been put on three diff meds for them and have landed myself in the hospital due to them. I struggle with these thoughts every day and I obsess over them to the point where they run my entire life. Another part of my ocd is obsessive cleaning of my house, my cleaning is a compulsion to distract myself from my thoughts but then I obsess over that. Every single day I have to deep clean every day. I can't sit down and relax at all because my entire body will feel tingly and staticky if my house is not perfectly clean and it never gets to the point where I feel it is perfect. It is so exhausting most days because I can't control myself and stop myself from cleaning. As a kid I would have to count things over and over and if I messed up I had to start again because it didn't feel right. I would get dressed in the morning and if my shirt didn't feel right, I couldn't wear it or if I had a bad thought while putting it on, I had to take it off. Some outfits I couldn't wear again if I had a bad day while wearing it. I would memorize every single family members phone numbers and birthdays. There's so much more that I dealt with and that I deal with every single day but I just wanted to share to give some insight on what this disorder can look like!!! Love u

I usually don’t comment often and when I do it’s usually something positive and I’m not trying to be mean but this is all just so tone deaf. Having a desire to continue traditions does not make you OCD, and telling people on your social media to take a break from work when you need it for mental health purposes is asinine. As others say, it’s not a slay to be dx w these things. She said past traumas? She’s said on the podcast murmurous times that she’s never been through anything traumatic. Never lost a close family member, never went through a breakup, never even moved as a kid. She’s so close with her immediate family. Having childhood trauma isn’t a hip thing to have either. It’s all a stretch. I do so many of these things she’s listing and it’s called being an adult and living life and having quirks. I’ve had tics my entire life but you better believe I’m not going to search for attention over it! No one would even notice unless they stared closely at me and saw the tics or sat real close to me and could hear them. The end of this video was just so weird. I really appreciate you being open but I also really appreciate you phrasing these traits and struggles you have mentioned as tendencies and think as someone with a severe OCD diagnosis that this is probably what they are. I have gone to countless support groups and have to say that OCD I thin is one of the least known and most confused disorders. It can honestly be so confusing for a lot of people about what it actually is. I know from my experience that unfortunately with OCD urges or as we call them "compulsions", you would be struggling a lot more not to do them, to the point that most people with a diagnosis would describe physically not being able to ignored them or not do them until they had sought mental health support and help. But that doesnt in anyway mean that what you feel and experience couldnt be OCD tendencies and that they dont impact your life.

How is she so "real"?? She decides when and how often she uploads videos of her life.. come on. Totally not realistic. Realistic is being a normal human, having a normal job and understanding. Not complaining because you're burnt out from posting 1 vid a week.

    • @jamiemuddiman1573

Isn’t that the beauty of being an influencer, uploading when she chooses? How does that have anything with her being real or not. Pretty sure we are allowed to feel burnt out regardless of how much or little we work. I appreciate her honesty instead of sugar coating things that’s what I mean about her being real, she doesn’t owe us any explanation yet she does.

Listening to your video at 4:47. I kind of stuggle with the same thing. However, I think it maybe be becasue you are self employed. You have expectations of yourself. Although, I am not self employed, I still have to meet expections of my superiors. Although you have to answer to your self, you set yourself at a higher standerd to answer your owne expections. Which I am guessing you have a tendensy to old yourself more cridical of you. If that make any sense? No one is perfect. You just need to focus on what make you happy, what makes you want to exceed and push forward. Your content is 100% on point. Don't stop doing what you are doing. If you need a break? Freaking take it!!! We all deserve a little grace. That includes you, Allisa Rose. Love you and what your bring to your channel!!!

I literally cannot thank you enough for opening up about OCD and being vulnerable with us. I have suffered with OCD for the longest time and even remember when I was 7-8 noticing it for the first time and asking my mom if something bad was going to happen to me if I didn’t do certain stuff. I have also looked into therapy. It sounds so crazy when I talk about my OCD out loud, but I feel so calm knowing others out there actually get it from my POV. Love you Liss!

Keep sharing future ones and btw that Target purse is gorgeous. 😊 Congratulations on your 8th RUclips Anniversary 👏🏽Your transparency and open dialogue on the tendencies are more common than one may think. It would be better if some of us actually spent some time educating ourselves on serious mental illnesses and stop self-diagnosing. This is wrong on many levels. Trying to convince yourself and others you have a mental illness, when you’re as healthy as you can be is just wrong.
