A couple things for the comments that ive experienced. If your craving "bad" food. Get yourself a couple burger patties with cheese and bacon. That worked wonders for shutting cravings down. As far as losing weight. Its taken me 9 months. Now at 5'9" and 170lbs, 41yrs old. Im powerlifting and deadlifting 550lbs!! We've also reversed my gf diabetes!! I've studied all things carnivore and I'm a huge champion for Anthony Chaffee.

I agree, when I had cravings for sugar or carbs it was because I needed to eat fat, meat and salt. Even when I didn’t feel like meat was appetizing it was a cue for hunger disguised in a carb craving. I eat hamburger patties with cheese often and dipped melted butter 👌

I stop for periods. It's to challenge myself. It's about respect. For example 1st 3 months of January 2025. Told my wife. Told my best mate. If you break it you lose respect. You don't want that from anyone especially people you love. Green T and alter your routine. Will power and discipline. You can do it. You don't have to be T total unless you want to. But yes alcohol is toxic just keep it real. I like few wines in front log fire of a UK winter evening and sitting out back of house in summer evenings chewing the fat with few beers.

@briandoherty8856 honestly I just did dry January and layered in a "month" of carnivore at the same time. I'm a real beer snob too. Lol! But I was feeling so good that after my goal month I mentally said just one more day...one more day...quitting in winter is easier. I do drink sparkling water to still feel like I am in the mix socially. My husband still drinks beer and I am beyond temptations. Maybe try the water. They look feel and sound like you're cracking a cold one.

I want to give you a success story hoping to encourage others. I was in a bicycle accident with a TBI and 16 surgeries. On the road to recovery, I stuttered badly, lost my balance and the short term memory was completely gone. I nearly gave up. I finally was able to get back to the gym and weighed in at 246 lbs. My prior running weight was 157. I just left my trainer at 159 and 5% body fat. I'm running again, sprinting and hitting the weights hard. I can dead hang for 2 minutes, do 15 real pull ups and bench 270. The big kicker is I am 69 years old. I am never hungry. Meat, butter and eggs are all I need.

    • @cherylh4688
      @cherylh4688 9 дней назад +4

Wow, that is incredible, Patrick! Congratulations on not just recovering but probably even surpassing your former fitness level. To go through so much and come out stronger really IS inspirational!!
And how is the short term memory these days? I do remember Dr Chaffee saying he had reversed his father's dementia with a carnivore diet!
I am 76 and have been carnivore most of the time for over a year. But I like variety and believed it was best, so there were many poultry and seafood days and actually not as many with beef. Bison and lamb were preferences.
But I did notice I was having some issues with my short-term memory too, altho' my arthritis and neuritis are almost gone! And some edema in feet and legs, plus obesity were still a problem.
Recently I switched to primarily beef, butter and eggs to narrow down any potential cause of edema that remained in feet and legs. And to my surprise, it started to help. And with some testing, I've discovered a sensitivity to salmon that I didn't know I had, AND that I don't feel as well on poultry as I do on beef, tho' I never was that fond of beef! But the biggest surprise of all has been noticeable improvement in my short-term memory! AND my weight is finally coming down again!

@nancy. Not sure who your suggestion is directed to, Nancy, but your comment reminded me of something. When my doctor first saw my blood work and cholesterol numbers a few years back, my trigs were high, HDL low, LDL high, etc. Naturally she wanted to put me on a statin. No diet recommendations, etc,.just to take a statin.snd think about losing weight.
My response was, "No thanks. I'm pretty sure I can fix those numbers," to which she expressed skepticism but gave me 4 months to try. And 4 months later, as she was already starting to say, "You see? I told you...," she suddenly took a deep breath and said, "Wow! You really did!" My numbers, except for LDL, were almost perfect, and even my LDL was down significantly.
Naturally, ofc, she still wanted me to go on a statin, which I again refused. But what I found most significant was that she NEVER, to this day, has asked me how I did it! Smh

@nanceyfahey7518 Oh, I like that, Nancy! I'm going to assume that from now on, and I hope you are right, lol!
In the case of my doctor, however, I noticed she added to my chart late last year that she suspected my carnivore diet was the reason I had put on weight, even tho' I have been obese since she met me in 2014, when I was mostly plant-based, and I had only been carnivore for about 10 months! So in her case, I think that seed's going to have its work cut out for it trying to penetrate THAT soil! 😂😂😟

I'm currently 53. Two years ago, exactly, I was in a bad place with insanely high, chronic inflammation, amongst many other issues. I transitioned rather quickly from keto to ketovore to Carnivore, and it took several months to heal. However, as I healed, I began to feel like moving more, so I did. Within 6 months, I felt amazing. Within a year, I felt damn near bulletproof! On Sunday, I mulched leaves for 5 hours (and 3 minutes) with a commercial 30" walk-behind mower that weighs 100 lbs. more than me, without more than a 1 minute break to fill the gas tank twice. I checked my tracking app and walked 28,000+ steps which equated to 13.28 miles, according to the app. Two years ago, I would NEVER believe this would be possible! I ate primarily burgers, with occasional steak 2-3 times per week and a lot of eggs. It is possible. Eat high fat and give your body plenty of time to heal, while you go down the rabbit hole of Carnivore. That's what I did. I was in a dark place, but I'm proof there is hope! I do my best to get the word out in my sphere of influence, and I try to be a regular active participant on Dr. Chaffee's livestreams. I regularly tell people that Carnivore saved my life, because I truly believe so.

What's crazy is that I stopped for a few months, felt better, and when I started again, I could sprint 5-6x per week and feel amazing. It was like my body was not used to the stimulus and had to build muscle to compensate because I notice my knees are somewhat meatier than before. I fell a little short of that goal (18lbs in two months is great, though), but I've been carnivore ever since. I went from 230 and am now at 193 and have been to the gym only three times. My only regret about going carnivore is that I didn't do it when I was in my 20s or 30s. As far as my overall health is concerned, this has been arguably the best decision I've made in my life. 1 week later he's back, with the same problem.
    So, what do i do?

Does he tell you that type 2 comes from sugar and you need to eliminate it all together?
No, because he wants a customer.
It's equal to me saying to the trailer guy, "Ohhh yeah you need to go home and slowly paint it red,, because those red ones never break"
Don't paint it in one go tho, just slowly change it once a week for the next 25yrs until its red, then you'll be fine.

I eat eggs, meat and cheese. I will have deserts at family birthday parties. I will have rice on occasion with a meal, I'm not super strict. But I look like a different person. I have a goal weight in mind, it's 100Kg or ~ 220Lbs. Which is what I weighed in HS when I played football. This is a very realistic goal. My doctor is loving the slow steady transformation. All good with my blood work. I don't have afternoon crashes from carb induced comas... I find I need or crave less caffeine also since about week 5. I've been serious with this since My birthday in Jan. My goal was to get to 246lbs (111.5Kg) by my next birthday.. which was my weight before our first child was born 20 years ago. All this is looking "easy" to attain. I'm also lifting weights again which was something I did most of my life until multiple kids, blah blah life got in the way.... Feel great, my mental sharpness has returned. Work is actually going better. I work in tech, so zero physicality to my work.

Never obese but as an adult always carried about 10 pounds extra fat as love handles and midsection, even after being animal based carnivore for two years (meat and dairy from yogurt and cheese). But when I cut out all dairy, within two weeks the weight dropped by 10 pounds and the love handles disappeared like magic and midsection completely flat like I remember from high school. My take away is to include dairy if you want to carry ten extra pounds of body fat.

I'm a 60 y o woman and I love sprinting. I started doing it this summer and I was going to the local college to use their track when school started up but it's impossible to use the truck but I have found a few parking lots that work perfectly for sprinting. They're nice and flat and you can measure distance easily by numbers of parking spaces. I found high schools are harder to use because most of them seem to be blocked with a fence so people can't go in on the weekends. I also started with all the sprinting exercises for good form before I actually started full-blown and sprinting. I love it it's exhilarating.

Could I sprint with a bike? I can bike, I can go hard on a bike but I can't sprint at least not yet. Possibly never?
I work out at the gym, I bike, when the weather isn't nice I have an exercise bike that I tried to go hard on, I do high intensity intervals and then reduce the intensity and then go hard again. Maybe what I should do is arrange a consult with you so I can ask you questions directly.
Thank you for all that you do, we're all lucky that people like you are out there educating the public. You are one my go-to, when I'm asked for someone's videos to watch, you're always the first name on my list.

Hi, I wanted to say hello sister based on your name. It's nice to see another member of the tribe here. I lived in Israel for 12 years when I was a little girl and I think that set me up for better health than I would otherwise have.
I think it depends on how healthy your bones are. Have you had any surgeries, any joint replacements for example, are you otherwise healthy. If you are I think you can probably start sprinting a little bit carefully. After this long on the carnivore diet you should be in good health.
Maggie was interviewed on this channel, she's in her '80s and her husband is 20 years younger than her, she works as a cattle rancher and she still works 16-hour days. She can outrun and out jump and probably out sprint people in their twenties and thirties. So it's doable but she has been carnivore for 65 years.
Start carefully, but I think you should be able to do it assuming there's nothing preventing you.

When you begin a sprint routine, think about some things.
      1. Warm up! Get a good walk and do some stretching.
      2. Just do a few sprints per session at first. (2 or 3)
      3. Roll into the sprint. Do not block start or rabbit start.
      4. Short sprints at first. (50 or 60 yards)
      5. Sprint on a soft surface, if you can.
      6. Sprint every other day.
      7. Try to sprint barefooted on grass or sand.

@nancycy9039 The key to it all is starting somewhere. Start walking first. Get a consistent routine going. Then, pick up your pace as you walk. Then, start jogging intermittently on your walks. Then, start working sprints into your walk/jogging routine. Maybe just sprint 50 or 60 feet at first. Sprint 3 sprints at 60 feet a sprint. When you first start out, it doesn't matter how slow you sprint or how far you sprint. You have to get your body used to the effort!! Build your fitness slowly. Most of us have very weak, atrophied hip muscles and weak leg muscles. So we've got to start slowly!

If you want to put on more weight you need to intake more calories and increase your insulin response a bit without significantly changing the potion size since you can't get down more food. So you need to try or fattier cuts of meat and/or add dairy. Look for higher fat/calorie yogurt than the one you're eating now. Add extra cheese, butter, or tallow to your meals. Drinking whole milk and/or cream is also really good for this, since it is a liquid it is very easy to get down even if you feel full. Can also add it or powdered milk to your tea/coffee. For your height you should be eating 2000 calories minimum to maintain 180 lbs, which would be about 2 lbs of fatty meat if you were eating meat only. Right now based on what you said you are only eating maybe about 1600 calories. If you can handle milk I would suggest drinking 1L of milk a day on top of what you're really eating, that will bring you up to 2250 calories without adding or changing the food.

I have the same problem. I force food and it just goes to fat above my stomach muscles and then I REALLY have to force food the next day or two, otherwise I will lose any hunger until the fat is pretty much gone.
The only way I have found is to work out with heavy weights. I work out, get hungry and eat a lot, and THEN I gain muscle which sticks.
And it doesn't take much. I do a couple of sets to failure for a muscle type once every week or two.

Does the carnivore diet help with scar endometriosis? I had a C-section with my first born almost 3 years ago and as a result of the C-section I developed scar endometriosis. I didn’t know if I wanted another child so at the time it was no big deal. However I think now my boyfriend and I want at least one more child. Will carnivore be able to improve my fertility and maybe get rid of my scar endometriosis.

I worj out pretty close to failure in the 8-12 rep range and I have alwaysa hard time putting on muscle and only recently got my genetics looked at.
I don't synthesize the hormones for muscle too well because of th state of several genes. CYP17A1, CYP19A1, SRD5A2, and UGT2B15 are all in suboptimal states.
I have tried a stack of DIM Calcium D Glucarate, Tongkat Ali, and boron for 6 weeks and size is not growing.
I'm very slowly getting stronger while losing fat and seeing more definition.
I am 6 feet tall and a 32 inch waist for pants.
Anyone have any tips for these genetics?

I believe in the carnivore diet but I also realize that meat does not contain every essential mineral that the body requires, I suggest that liquid plant derived colloidal minerals should be supplemented. The only one that I can suggest is put out by Youngevity, there are 60 essential minerals, many of them are micro minerals, trace minerals and rare earths. The reason I suggest Youngevity is because there are other brands that sell the same type of product but they are watered down, Youngevity is the most concentrated and yes cost more but it is worth it, you need four to five more bottles of the other brands compared to one 32-ounce bottle of Youngevity.
