Jon Jones is unquestionably one of the most skilled fighters, nearly indisputably the most skilled, to ever step into the Octagon. His skills end there, though. His social skills are atrocious, he has no self control outside the octagon (and training), and his ability to manage what legacy he has left is questionable at best. A year ago, we all thought Jones was amazing, he went right through Gane and we were all wondering who he'd fight next. Now, he's a laughingstock. It's bizarre. He's got a really good chance of beating anyone in the heavyweight division. He could've taken the Aspinall fight 6 months ago, beaten Aspinall (I love Aspinall, but I'd bet on Jones in that one), THEN fight Miocic to sail off into the sunset and we all would've been satisfied.
Instead, even after this Miocic fight, he's likely to walk away from the sport leaving a bad taste in our mouths. All of his horrible bullshit outside of the octagon made his legacy tarnished at best, but at least he could always claim to have taken on anyone worthy of a shot at his belt. He can't anymore.
