Seriously. It's healthy for these channels to show the struggle. I know for me personally, I learn more and respect channels more when they're not afraid to show that hey're just like everyone else.
I appreciate the focus on conservation and sustainability in this video, it's important to remember that fishing is not just about catching fish but also preserving the environment.
Great tips. It's great to see common courtesy to fellow Crappie fishermen. Years ago, my dad and I would Crappie fish on Kentucky Lake, and the bass boats would literally blow right in next to use and hit full throttle when they left the spot. Not only did it ruin our day, but many times, the wake pushed us into tree tops and the shoreline very quickly.
It's been nice not having pleasure boaters and Jet skiers around. One of my places, Lake Norman is the home lake so all the Charlotte pleasure boaters are out there. My place on Bull Shoals is much better but still busy when it warms. Unfortunately NC is where I have to spend most of my summer. I've been in Arkansas for the last 3 months so it's been nice, but coming to an end.
Great video (as usual)! For those of us that live in the Midwest, seeing how to fish the cold, muddy conditions helps a ton! Can you guys do a video (or include in a video) on your cold weather clothing, gloves, etc.? That's one of the main reasons I don't do a lot of fishing during this time of year. I freeze to death!!! Thanks.
Man you guys should do a give away of some of your apparel that’s something I’d like to see ! Been a subscriber for about 10 years now never really see give aways ! Awesome info as always I’m revved up for springtime 🔥
The frozen lockers are no joke! I wedge my needle nose pliers in the front corner of my Skeeter lockers and they pop up pretty easy with some pressure.👍
Tim, I found out 47 years ago that there is nothing harder to catch them in than cold, muddy water with current. I know you can pick up a few here and there but I have better luck going to reservoirs.
Man bro...thats a fast boat trip, I gotta get one of those motors! I've been on some crazy boat rides with professional drivers when I worked at Champion, but that was epic! 🤣 🤣
Whites on that bfs set up was fun as hell I bet. I’ve done that finesse cranking a bunch of times too. Better than not being able to fish right now like me 💀
Curious, could you guys do a video on how you read river current volumes that the TVA manages. IE, where this current information is coming from and how to tackle it.
Yet another awesome video. I'm trying learn as much as I can from y'all fishing that area. I retire from the USCG in 1.5 years and will be moving to TN, in the Knoxville area. When are you getting the Champ back? What's your plans with the skeeter in the future?
Ya gunna Getch a new drop shot rig? $ 1,250.00 for that Exsence / NRX combo. Ya didn't even blink or miss a beat. I'd be a teary snotty mess! I salute you.
Hmmm...that sure looks like an Aldebaran BFS reel and not a curado bfs :) How do you like the expride ML? Looking to get my first bfs setup...Thanks for the video Tim!
I have a question do bass eat trout glide baits even if there are no trout in the lake? Bluegill is the main forage but I am wondering if they would still eat a trout glide.
It depends on the day. We are based in East Tennessee but never stop traveling. We typically fish in 25-30 states each year in order to keep our information well rounded and applicable to everyone.
After watching a video I try to build a A rig with your recommended parts only to find they a not available. Could you build the rig and offer it in one package. .?
@@andybales7318 I've tried it all...reel magic, reel snot, PAM, wd40, u name it...n even change up to flouro or mono 4 the winter...n it's too big a problem 4 me, personally. I fish a river system n I can't get it gone completely, & if u Don't clean ur eyes off, u got twisted line n a rats nest n ur baitcaster or spinnin reel over a dozen casts! & who wants to do that after every 3 casts n 20° weather? I just CANT go when temp is below 27°. It gets REAL Bad after that!
Why is post storm a tough time to fish? I would think the sun would warm the water and let the fish see bait better in muddy water. I could see a video on weather effects be something you could do. Sit by the fireplace and record it. ;}

Tim, good to see even you having a tough day on the water. It makes the rest of us not feel so bad when we struggle at this time of the year 😉

Thanks as always fellas! Warmer weather is right around the corner!

I can’t wait. I’m so done with the cold.

Idk if it was just the camera but the colors on that last Smallie were pretty neat. It was like a green backed Smallie
Sound of BFS drag👍
So ready for the warmer weather. I struggle in the cold water.

That A-Rig is such a great search bait
Please do a video on fishing flooded lakes before spring hits. Flipping bushes and trees etc
Great day Tim!
I ran that 999 up on the coffer dam back in 2018 used to load barges with that crane on night shift

Throw some lithium grease on the seals
Let’s go!!! One of my favorite times of year!!! ❤❤❤
Thanks for the video. Hard to leave biting fish to find what you are really searching for, especially this time of year.

Tim, what the heck are those round wooden towers with the metal rings hanging off of them?
What part of the country are you guys in ? Really like your videos, keep up the good work

What afea of the country do you guys usually fish?
Tim. You did say you were fishing a river, correct? How shallow/deep (water depth) where you fishing?
After watching a video I try to build a A rig with your recommended parts only to find they a not available. Could you build the rig and offer it in one package. .?
I'd argue that an inch of ice is the toughest conditions you can face :)
I am curious. Why not throw a lipless in those conditions?
Tim gets to go fishing by himself, but really he’s with thousands of co-anglers lol
Tim, we're you seeing fish on your forward facing sonar. You really didn't talk about it in the video.
Champs! 🏆
How do u keep ur eye guides and so forth from freezing up w/ ice when ur fishing n weather below 32°...??
Try spraying the guides with line conditioner...bass pro makes 1...another called Reel Snot...KVD makes 1 I think

Does your feet not get cold wearing those shoes
Funny I was just saying to myself he should pick up the bfs!
