I went for a curly cut last year after having my baby & before I returned to work - but after using their products ( I bought some to bring home ) I noticed my hair was coming out in clumps on wash day. I've since stopped using their stuff and my hair is closer to the way it was before; but I say all that to ask whether or not you've seen any difference in your hair after your appointment? I've been avoiding going back for cuts because I didn't want to use their products but hoped that if you're not seeing any negative aspects maybe they've reworked their formulas & it's safe to start going back ? Can you keep us posted if you do notice any changes?
hi, thank you so much 💕 i’ve been to deva curl twice so far. once last year and then again just recently and i haven’t noticed a change in my hair from either appointments. i think the main reason is because i don’t use their products in my hair routine outside of my visits to the actual salon. i believe the main reason for so many people experiencing hair loss from using their products came from their shampoos. the curly girl method, most of the natural hair community and some brands like deva curl preach that shampoos with sulfates are bad or unhealthy for your hair but it’s not completely true. i believe sulfates or clarifying shampoos every now and then are beneficial to your hairs health because it gives your hair a complete cleanse. we use so many products and oils in our hair that cause build up and if they are not completely cleansed away the build up is just going to keep building which overtime can cause hair loss. i can’t remember exactly where i read this information but when there’s too much build up it starts to clog the hair follicles causing the hair to fall out in clumps because the hair is too heavy to stay attached to the scalp with all the build up. from the information i’ve read on the matter this seems to be the reason but i always encourage everyone to do their own research. if you do want to go back to their products, i would recommend slowly incorporating them one by one over the course of a couple months in your current hair routine. that way if you see any changes in your hair you can pin point which product is causing it. hope this helps ❤️
