Thanks for the demo. Do the beds/containers have to be below the rainbarrel output? Or can the water travel upwards a bit after coming out the rainbarrel? My issue is that my raised bed is pretty tall - maybe 1-2 feet above my current rainbarrel output
You may have enough pressure when your barrels are full but as they empty you will lose pressure. You could consider adding a standard utility pump. I thought I remembered on your site or a video or somewhere that the timer had a rain sensor and would not open if there had been rain? The time or you showed in the video is what I have doesn’t appear to have a rain sensor.

We bought two of the Toro timers you showed. I have not opened them up yet. We are planning on putting in four 500 gallon tanks for rainwater catchment. Will this timer work with those? It says it needs 5 psi. I don't know what the tanks will have if placed at ground level. Also we want to use one on two 265 gallon tanks placed on the ground. As long as there is some water in the tanks will this valve work? I realize now that your tanks are elevated. Thank you.

Good video, very helpful to see how delay timer starts, thank you for posting! One question, does the Frequency counter start when you set the timer? For example, it gives you a 72 hour option for frequency, but what time of day does it go off? The time of day when you set the timer or something else? Thanks again Toro Model 53453, Low-Pressure Tap Timer
I had the same question. When you set the frequency to anything like 72 hours, the watering does not start until that 1st frequency has passed per Toro. So the first watering wont start until 72 hours later. This is really annoying. So you have to set frequency off if you want to water immediately say 30 minutes. Then go back after 30 minutes and set the frequency you want and it will start later on. The rain barrel website nor this video does not tell you this.
Question. If I have hanging basket plants, would this type of irrigation system work? If my plants are hanging, is there enough pressure for the water to go up and through the irrigation tubing to water my hanging basket plants? If not, do you know of a product that will use water from my rain barrel to water my hanging plants? Thank you.
Hi Serena - for gravity-fed irrigation systems, the water release must be below the water level in your rain barrels. Until somebody figures out how to get water to flow uphill, anyway :). This article goes over the basics of gravity-fed irrigation: www.bluebarrelsystems.com/blog/gravity-feed-irrigate-rain-barrels/ Please contact us through our website if you have more questions. www.bluebarrelsystems.com/
Technically you can but you would have to add a transfer pump to the system and you would have to manually turn it on and off at the pump. So it wouldn't be a set it and forget it type of system unless you connect the pump to a smart plug and get it in sync with the irrigation system.
Bought this recently in Amazon and only works when the run time is set to ON state. Doesn't work when the set frequency timer elapses. Is there a way to repair them?
You were fabulous in showing the setup of the zero pressure irrigation.

Looking into using timers for raised beds. Thinking of using a pump for rain barrel and then adding timer to outlet used for pump.
