In this video you will learn how to fold the simplified version of my origami scorpion. The structure is very similar to the original version, but it's based on a 24x24 grid (instead of the 32x32). The legs and tail are shorter, but now it has fewer layers and even 15cm x 15cm standard origami paper works. If you have thinner paper it's even better: the first scorpion shown in the video (compared to a coin) was made from 9cm x 9cm Kraft Alios paper!

I HAVE DONE YOUR MANY COMPLEX ORIGAMIS AND I FEEL VERY RELAXED AFTER DOING
The previous one was quite easy, i made it and it turned out good, the only problem i faced was that i used a little thicker papper, because i couldnt find one that large and thin, so i messed up with the tail but i made few changes and it looks awsome, thanks for showing us this tutorial and i really enjoyed it
Same haha. My paper was a bit thicker than his, and smaller too, so my tail ended up ripping in the middle, but it still looks cool xD

diagrams on screen ARE a game changer ! really nice tutorial !! just had trouble to know where to reverse the legs, it was waaay too fast for me ^^ Also,the tail does indeed end up ripping in the middle for thicker paper tho, be careful ^^
I like the modifications this one made on Tadashi Mori's scorpion (if that was intended) because it uses a similar 24x24 grid and base, but makes the detailing at the end much easier. Overall, great tutorial.
that second fold for the pincers took me so long to figure out what you were doing… but i finally realized what you were doing! thank the lord

Finally, I folded this model. It is, of course, not crisp, but I now know the folds and will keep practicing until it is crisp and clean.

Ficou muito bom Jo! "Consegui" fazer a sua versão "original" com papel A4 não tem condições de fazer a modelagem principalmente da calda, contudo ainda fica um "senhor" origami. Amanhã irei tentar fazer essa versão simplificada!

I just made this it's wonderful! Unfortunately half way through making it I realized printer thick paper was a horrible choice 😅 I'm happy with it as it came out great

Can you make/design a cow in origami, the same level of difficulty as your origami dragon v1 and v2? The cows found in origami on youtube are either ugly or stupid videos, I have tried to make one for my boyfriend who is a farmer, and I ended up making a buffalo, where I made some small changes to it to make it look like a dairy cow/slaughter cattle, but it ended up looking like a boar. I love your videos, they are so nice simple and easy to understand also you have diagrams in your videos, therefore I hope you will make/design a cow so I can make it and give it to my boyfriend

If you wonder what changed, the grid went from 32x32 to 24x24, everything else is the same

These thin paper can make folding easier when the paper suppose to be thick
But it is harder to do small folds

Could you please make a tutorial on a yoshimoto cube? I have been searching everywhere and couldn't find a good tutorial.
this would've been a really cool origami if i had better paper. my paper was too thick and towards the end when making the legs i was almost crumpling the paper to roughly model the shape of the legs and it didn't help that when making the leg layers i messed up a little and had to back track to fix it.
same bro, looked almost identical until the legs and realized I spent 2 hours making some fat strange abomination
