  • You were successful in qualifying for Boston... and now it's time to make plans! 🦄
    The Boston Marathon is coming up fast. While training for Boston is top-of-mind, serious runners can't overlook the basic logistics needed for an epic race day: flights, hotels, buying the Boston Jacket, planning out an Instagram content strategy, and of course, hiring a running coach who can help go runners go sub-3 or qualify for Boston again (just make sure you hire a running coach who is as serious as you are). 🔥🔥🔥
    Sound expensive? Well, you can't put a price on epicness!
    If you're training for Boston 2021, make sure you've got these basics covered! Otherwise, getting to Boylston Street is a non-starter. And that would NOT be epic.

    I wish you good luck to achieve the superficial metric that validates the honest efforts you have put in. I loved you content, hope you go viral soon and annoy us with meaningless product placements! keep up the good work :)

    "I enjoy the juxtaposition between the raw emotion that I pretend to show in my posts and the superficial metrics that I hope to achieve." - Best line right there 🤣!

    $250 is not a serious price for a running shoe. We pay $370 in Australia for the same shoe. So that's way more serious right?

    "Only 16th..." & "What you really need to do is get on the TikTok." LOL! Always love your videos! Speaking of social media, you actually hit on a real thing (err, issue), that being the self gratification of 'support' via likes and comments vs actual support from a few close friends. Anyways, keep on training and I'll be here for the next video!

    I can’t believe I only just stumbled onto this! Seriously hilarious. I was quite distressed to have bought the 2020 jacket as soon as I got accepted and then of course have to also buy the 2021 jacket since 2020 didn’t come to fruition. Well, at least the 2021 jacket is the traditional colorway. Size: XS. I’m seriously petite. Martha

    As a serious triathlete, I think you made a good decision to stop doing triathlon to focus on just the one discipline. You seem to be doing reasonably well.

      You are a serious runner -- you just need a medium size Boston jacket instead of a small so you have extra space for snacks and to carry a library book inside your jacket when it rains. :)

    Asking a serious question, which may irritate lots of serious runners: with the covid cases keep going up rapidly, what do you think if the Boston 125th in person race can go as planned?
    Personally I prey the us land border can be open on time, so i can drive to Boston and have my first Boston Marathon completed.. fingers crossed..

    • @levandmarthapolyakin-aaron2183
      @levandmarthapolyakin-aaron2183 2 года назад

      Seriously, it’s a green light. Details about everything (expo, start, Covid protocol, etc.) are forthcoming soon. Mass.has one of the lowest infection rates in the country, just had a successful Falmouth Road Race and they would have canceled by now if they were going to. Can’t answer about the border, however.

      MA is well vaccinated and requires the runners to be vaccinated (or provide negative COVID tests). What they should do is require anyone traveling with them to have a valid vaccine card. Hotels, rental cars, and airline should require vaccine cards. Most runners are responsible, smart people who believe in science so I believe most are vaccinated by now.

    (1) That beer is going to be not fresh by October (do people actually go dry for this long? I can't even do it for a week unless I'm sick)
    (2) If you haven't booked a hotel by now, finish line proximity will cost both arms and a leg (can't put a price on epic? ha!)
    (3) Still haven't bought the jacket. Actually haven't booked the flight. Don't have a race plan. Might end up running Cuyamaca 100K the weekend before and end up hobbling through Boston. Pretty sure that will suck but also be epic in the worst way. Gotta punch the Western States ticket.
