    Dan, you have a good wife (I know you know). But she works all day, helps with animal care, and keeps that house spotless. She deserves a sit on the couch. The pasture is looking great. I just think you needed Lou to supervise lol. Happy New Year Dan & Lou 🍾🎆

    I think the dinner bell would sound better if it had a little string or chain attached to the triangle, then attached to the bracket. The way it is, it seems like it being in direct contact with the bracket muffles the sounds. I think it "ring" more if the bracket weren't absorbing the sound. If that makes sense! lol

    Thinning out the trees will help the ones you leave grow bigger & healthier. You can yell louder than the dinner bell lol, what might help is tie the triangle part to the bracket with a thin piece of leather so it dangles freely. Right now the bracket is absorbing the vibration.

    No point in trying to organize everything between Christmas and New Year's Day. You should enjoy that week like it is a week off if work you still have plenty other stressful stuff to deal with like family visits, etc. my tree stays up till Valentines' day. It doesn't start snowing much till Feb and March anyway. (Midwest) just leave out everything you were given for the givers to see haha.

    Triangle dinner bell .. use the twine to hang the Triangle that way it free swings :)
    Those lights are going to be SO pretty and the back area, wow GREAT job!!

    • @kathymcgathy2006
      @kathymcgathy2006 9 месяцев назад

      The triangle needs to be hung on something so that it can swing free and vibrate. They usually come with a leather string or small chain to hang it with so it can make the proper sound. It only needs to hang down a few inches and the sound will resonate more. Love ❤️

    I have never before seen a hat rack that can hold cowboy hats. Very cool. I have a couple of suggestions for you and you can take them for what they are worth. That is, nothing (: First one is to buy some horse-quality hay for your mini-horse. Horses need better hay than cows do. Second, consider letting Paw-Paw's mini-horse and yours have some play dates. Every day Paw-Paw's horse neighs over to your horse. I have enjoyed watching you ad Lou's channel this year, and seeing how much more confidant you have both become. I wish you a happy and healthy New Year, 2024!

    Happy New Year to all, but ask Lou or Brinn to do an internet search on treating those tree stumps or else your 'problem' w/those trees will continue and/or multiply. Their method of reproducing will send up sprouts from the base and where there was one there will be 'multiples' more. Learned my lesson w/the 'Tree of Heaven' where I started w2 and now it's the entire small space. Treat them stumps, close the area to the animals if need be. It will be better in the future for all. Best wishes for early area control. Again, 'love your channel'.

My mom has dementia and the tree is in her room, we set it up early so she had plenty of time to enjoy it. Now I'm trying to think of things to replace it with. We also grew up with a famed dinner bell. When. She rang that bell we stopped building forts, dropped softball games, and came from wherever. Your bell brings back some great memories enjoy.

    Hi Dan, your pasture looks much better without the scrub trees. I would clear out all but the oak. Tractor supply carries a stump killer you mix with vegetable oil in a spray bottle and spray on stumps to kill roots and all. I used it in my city yard where scrub trees came up one year when I was ill and when I finally cut the trees down I used it and it works great. Probably would work faster in your weather because you don’t have the below zero temps to slow it down.

    I love how you and Lou banter. That’s how my husband and I get along. We laugh a lot. I am surprised that you guys have taken everything Christmas down already. I am watching this video on New Year’s Eve, Dec 31. Here in Canada we wait to take down our trees and decorations until New Years is over. We also have a large population of Ukraine immigrants, some from long ago and some from recent. They don’t take down their trees and decorations until after the January 14.
    The lights will look so nice around the little barn at night. I’m looking forward to seeing them in a video.
    All the work you’re doing looks great. What kind of trees are you taking down? You may need to put something on those stumps in the spring to stop suckers from coming up. Or maybe your little Bambi’s will keep the suckers managed. 😀. Hopefully there won’t be a problem at all.
    Happy New Year to you and Lou! May the coming year be filled with Blessings, Love, Laughter, Success, Happiness and Most Importantly GOD. ♥️ 🙏 🤗 🇨🇦

    Dan you need either a leather string or som O rings, about 2-3 should do. Thread the triangle part of the dinner bell through the leather or O rings there should be a short string of O rings.. hang the triangle of the Dinnerbell bar via the O rings or leather. It rill ring much louder. Being connected to the bar as it is, is flattening or killing the vibrations which make the sound..
