I traded my Ontario Reign jersey with a German national who was visiting for the Frozen Friendly match up with the franchises newly acquired Eisbaren Berlin from the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). It's a custom Warrior jersey. A great crowd from Germany, an awesome game and a moment I will never forget.

Thinking back on the old days had me recall old hockey barns thinking of my 1st games I attended, Shannon did you ever think of doing a video on old hockey barns? in Ahl it was the old Hershey arena and in West Springfield the eastern state coliseum on the grounds of the New England fairgrounds where all the Eddie Shore famous antics happened like tying the goalie to the net to teach him not to leave the crease. What was great was the chairs were wooden and fans would stomp the chairs and their feet of wooden stands causing the building to shake rattle and roll which was the theme song of Eddie Shores teams. and the players home and visitors had to go threw the crowd to get to and from dingy little dressing rooms. One game against Hershey Alain Cote number 9 of Hershey had a breakaway and shot 20 ft wide. in intermission I was at the runway to the Hershey dressing room and when they came out to the ice I yelled hey Cote you suck and he went berserk on me and came after me and swung his stick me. other players had to hold him back. fans all laughed and high fived me. those were the days. but yea I changed the subject a bit sorry.

I miss the chevrolet logo...I know it's not a great knight crest but it really became iconic in the 90's ! It's like the Canuck one...Some logo just stand as great !

As an LA fan I should hate the Nucks more than I do but that green and blue jersey and overall vibe of the city I just can't hate them. Props for that Reign gear. Cool Reign gear. The chevron jersey i loved because of the Gretzky years and beyond. Love the LA home plate jerseys because we won a Cup with that logo, but it has never sit right with me. It is a "Home Plate". I've always associated it with baseball. My favorite jersey is the 3rd with the string neck line and the shield. The new jerseys with the home plate shaped logo should be changed to a shield shaped logo instead. Keep it the same. Just use a shield.
Adidas 3 stripes is iconic in as of itself, so three strings. I love the current LA lettering logo. For anyone that grew up in the U.S. when you see "L A" you think of L.A. (Los Angeles). Just like the Dodgers- I don't think anyone really loves the 'Dodgers' lettering logo better than the simple and clean LA. LA is money. Also, I like the font too. Almost a Chinatown type of thing. Thumbs up!
Well, they still have the Rams, Chargers, and Clippers to choose from if they want to copy local football and basketball teams. Of course the late 90s uniforms copied the Sacramento Kings, so I guess any of California's teams are an option...
That makes no sense. If anything, they should keep the colors now that the Raiders aren't in California. When they were in California, especially LA, Al Davis was upset about them ripping off their color scheme.

I was so happy to find this video! I picked up an old (early 1970's) hockey bag. It was full of some super cool hockey stuff. The duffel bag is maroon and gold and says "LA Midget Kings" on it. Inside the bag were some OLD jerseys. There's a Kings jersey made by the Goodman company. There were also some "The Forum" employee shirts. There's a 75/76 LA Kings sport coat in it...but it is maroon, too. Just really random stuff. I have a question, if you might be able to answer it. Was the "Midget" a high school aged league? Does that explain the color difference? Great video even if you don't have the time to respond. Thanks!

I have every King jersey from Purple and Gold to the Gretzky era plus the 2014 Stadium Series. All with Gretzky on the back. They are knock offs from China but I use them when I play hockey or go see a game. I am planning on buying the Gretzky era jerseys from the LA Kings shop.
Considering how many rebrands the Kings have gone through, I hope they do another one soon. Would be good timing for the current rebuild. Would love to see purple back in the design. Could be cool to have mainly grey and black still but gold and purple striping.

The Chevy era jerseys had two different number colors for the white, prior to 1992 it was silver and after 1992 they switched to black numbers, I assume because the silver was difficult to read. They also changed the trim on the name and numbers prior to 1992 adding a white stroke between the silver and black.
The Kings had a slight change of the 2000's jerseys when they removed the purple from bottom and kept the "Los Angeles" word mark just on white or black for the white and black jerseys respectively...understand why you wouldn't have those changes either.
I still wish the Kings would go back to the Purple & Gold, so they could blend with my Lakers. I really love those 50th Anniversary purple and gold jersey.
I think another reason the "Burger King" was so unpopular is that was the '95-'96 season. The Kings were not a very good team, after the All-Star break, Gretzky pretty much demanded a trade, went to St. Louis, they decided to blow up it, traded Kurri, McSorley, etc., we'll go with the kids, get our brains beat out for awhile and hopefully then get better. Not a lot of good memories of that season.
Looks like you are missing the 2007-11 white and purple jerseys as well. Similar to 02-07, still with Los Angeles at the bottom but not with the colored block around it.

Kings have the best Rebranding history in my opinion. Even the current full blacks I like because they kind of fit the teams grit from earlier in the decade.
Was looking for a good spot to post this i was looking at the rookie D-man and ranked the 12 that played a min of 50 games 1-12 in 20 stat categories and when i added the totals up, the 3 that had the best totals were #1 Adam Fox,#2 Cale Makar, and #3 Matt Roy and if i took out takeaways Roy is 1st i only mention it because absolutely nobody is saying anything about Roy and he may be the best D-man of this rookie class only time will tell
Totally agree. He played very well this year, being +16 on that kings team should not be underrated. Sadly he is already 25 so he probably won't progress much but if he can stay close to this season's level he will have his place in the young core.
I wish that they would keep the current colors but change back to the 2000s crown logo. The LA shield logo was cool in the early 2010s when they were winning cups, but it looks dated now. The crown was always a clean logo
If I’m not mistaken the Lakers didn’t have Purple and Yellow until the same season as the Kings came into the league. I think the Lakers used blue and white for many yrs before that. So maybe the Lakers took the Kings idea for the colors?
Ohhhh, that motion lines stadium jersey is one of those "is that great or awful? I can't tell." It's in the same department as the Canucks skating rink and their v stripe thing. I think I like those...I think. Obviously purple/marigold is beautiful. BK is awful.

I would wager that most Kings fans prefer the crown logo. A smaller group the Chevy bowtie. I think Bob in La Habra is the one fan who prefers the home plate. I kid. The home plate logo will always be associated with the Cup teams so there are fond memories with it. But yeah, it would have been sweeter with a crown logo.

As a Sharks fan gonna chime in that the Gretzky 90s silver and black were the best, I hate the Lakers Purple and Yellow and hate the early 2000s purple jerseys as well, their current jerseys look good just as Silver and Black
I preferred the Burger King jersey over the Raider Road Kill jerseys... I just wished they stuck with the grey beard...
It'd be a fun, friendly bet between teams in a best-of-seven that the loser of the series has to wear their most ridiculous jersey in team history (chosen by the winner of the series) in their next regular season meeting following the series.
