I believe it is classed as Folk music but I can be wrong. As an Indian myself I have heard these song’s especially from Kollywood during my childhood days and occasionally now. From what I know, they make banging tracks. Especially, for top tiered stars like Vijay (Thalapathy just means Commander in English and is his nickname the fans have him back in the 90s) a fun fact for you though my man Vijay is 46 years old who would turn 47 this June but looks like a student half his age. His cinema work has panned out nearly 3 decades. His authenticity and realism in real life is admired by everyone and his acting within the industry is respected and loved by people of all age. Better way to put it would be 6-60 year old people love him. Long ass message right? 😀
