Never heard of him before the US Open, he has a very refreshing Tennis style. His chances of beating Medvedev, who seems in tip-top shape, in R3 are small, but you never know in tennis.
Have been following his results, hope the US media does not give him too much spotlight too soon like they did in the case of Donald Young! Let him develop his game and get consistent results. I can understand, US had players of the Quality of John, Jimmy, Pete, Andre, Jim, Michael, Andy etc. Even the 2nd rung had fabulous players like Vitas Gerulitis (did I spell it wrongly?), Kevin Curran, Todd Martin, James Blake, Mardy Fish etc. The current crop of players can become great players too if they have the work ethics, dedication and hunger to win. Talent is still there in US Tennis, they just have to be guided properly.
@@kashmonyklik I was about 12 when he came over to the UK, would read anything and everything about tennis. He struck a kind of Huckleberry Finn character to Fleet Street - so they liked to write about him (in the days before PR coaching on dealing with the media)
I didn’t hear about it but based on what he said it must have been the 👌 which 4chan trolls convinced radical leftists was a secret gesture for white supremacy. Pathetic that JJ has to defend that admist his first GS win, this was a thoroughly professional press conference from him.
How embarrassing the person asking questions knows absolutely nothing about the match.
Great player hope he goes far. Seems like a talented player. Good luck to him.

Awesome player, looks like a classic player, managing the point. No doubt is an upcoming Top 10.
gr8 personality......
Reminds me more of the player Mel Purcell in the early 1980s.
Mel had good potential, sad he didn't make it bigger than what he did
he was my college coach haha, true legend

He can wear the hell out of those white shorts. Look out Jack, you about to have competition!
What hand gesture did he make?

WHO CAAAAAARES ???? live him alone.
@@bowlingforhenry I agree. The press can be very pathetic at times - even when covering sports.
It’s hard to remember everything
Good lord this has to be the worst interviewer I’ve ever seen. Hope to see more of JJ in the future.
