great vid. I believe the 3 relays are near the firewall for E30s with M42 engines, and the other locations are for the E30s with other engines. Nothing to do with cabrio/ coupe/ saloon body styles.
I did a stomp test on my 1991 BMW 318i E30 M42 engine and it gave me the code: 1261 - "Fuel Pump Relay Control code indicates break or short circuit associated with fuel pump relay. Test for proper signal on number 3 pin on DME. It can also mean that output stage of DME is faulty (Motronic version 1.3 only)". Is what you're showing in this video the DME? Sorry, for the previous comment I meant to say code 1231 - "Battery Voltage / DME Main Relay error code can mean that battery voltage is out of range (either too high or too low), or that battery was disconnected. Test charging system and /or battery to find problem cause." I can't find the DME location of my 1991 BMW 318i E30 M42. Could you tell me where to find this DME? Thanks!
I had a similar problem- fuel didn't seem to be getting sent. Spent a couple of days troubleshooting and then I remembered...Check the fuses! And sure enough I had a blown fuse that is for the fuel pump. Don't make my mistake- first check your fuse box! $2 repair.
cr electrical .. I checked the fuel pump with a multimeter and it was fine. The next day I swear to god I got mad at it and gave the car a couple kicks hit the starter with a spanner and it started up and hasn't given me any problems since. It's so weird!!

middle relay is fuel pump, white relay is the main ecu relay and the brown one is for o2 sensor.

I've got a 1991 convertible and the relays are located near the water tank/passenger wheel
