i wish more people knew about her beautiful, unique voice (:
I only found out today. Big fan of Shameless. She should since more jazzy tunes, she does them justice.
I wouldn't say beautiful and I definitely wouldn't say unique. This is the only song that she actually sounds good in
I was blown away when I realized how amazing her voice was.
@@soulsnatcher5408 you're insane
@@soulsnatcher5408 she was Christine in the phantom of opera
It's new, yet it sounds so old.
It's always amazing when both worlds can come together so beautifully.
Lyrics
A cigarette that bares a lipstick's traces
An airline ticket to romantic places
Still my heart has wings
These foolish things remind me of you
A tinkling piano in the next apartment
Those stumblin' words that told you what my heart meant
A fair ground painted swings
These foolish things remind me of you
You came, you saw, you conquered me
When you did that to me
I knew somehow this had to be
The winds of march that made my heart a dancer
A telephone that rings but who's to answer
Oh, how the ghost of you clings
These foolish things remind me of you
Aw I love how she's keeping Jazz alive. Gorgeous girl.
i just found her a few years ago and i am so glad i did she makes me wanna sing more than ever
Perfect companion with coffee in a rainy afternoon... So relaxing...
Oh, so many years since the last comments...
the utter simplicity, and timelessness
Every time I get in my car, this is pretty much the only album I listen to. I've listened to it at least 10 times this summer all the way through so far.
Why doesn't this have more views?
I've loved Emmy's voice for almost ten years now. I first heard her sing in The Phantom of the opera and she was amazing. She still is to this day her voice has matured a lot since she was sixteen and she manages to amazed with how awesome her voice is.
I love how this sounds like it came out from an old radio
I read somewhere that she had the band play in the background while she sang into a vintage mic during recording. 😊
i love her so much. she's so naturally talented. i wish she was more known and that more people could recognize her rare talent.
8 years late , wow her songs brought me back to 50-60's 😦
This is probably my favorite song on this album...it's beautiful!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely long her voice!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Emmy!!!!!!!!
Fantastic song!..written in 1938❗️ (…naturely ☺️😊☝🏼)
I love the oldies! so this whole album is a perfect fit for me. thanks Emmy!
Emmy this an amazing performance, it's so cool that you are performing standards that greats like Billy holiday sang. Very soulful!
♥Her voice is just so smooth, sexy, catchy, and classy
Just beautiful ♥
can't stop listening to it
It's so refreshing to hear this kind of music!! I LOVE IT!! I can't wait to buy this record on the 29th!! Spectacular job Emmy!! You've DEFINITELY brought back class and grace back to music.
Is there anything Emmy Rossum can't do? She just keeps on surprising us with diversity of talent.
Truly phenomenal.
This...this is the greatest music in the world!!
ConArtistFilms stated that this was a Frank Sinatra song. Not true. This great song goes back to 1936 to the days of the Benny Goodman Orchestra with the voice of the great Helen Ward laying down the voice work. Franks recording was, indeed fine, but this is not Franks song. Emmy's version is tremendous, but so was the James Brown recording of 1963. This song has had some great interpretations over the years and it belongs to no one particular artist.
Fell in love with your voice in phantom of the opera, how did I not know about this..magic
The last torch singer I remember listening to was Julie London, now we have Emmy - - and she knocks it out of the park!
Such a beautiful rendition of the old song! I wish she had sung the full version so that I can get to enjoy more of it.
You're a legend
She has a very nice and soothing, relaxed voice, even in the higher pitch!
YES! I love this kind of music! And I love Emmy! The perfect combination :)
still listening to this 🥺❤️
HOW is that I haven't listen to this before? Is GREAT! BEAUTIFUL!
thank you emmy for giving some diversity and actual music. bravo! "Music" today not even music is crap
What a classic voice....I love her acting and now I love her singing , a pleasant surprise .
Maybe ill just enjoy being alone dear Emmy (after all, all of you left years ago. Thank you)
Beautiful vocals and out standing keys.
so relaxing...
I knew subscribing to Canon would have its benefits. Emmy, you just got yourself a new fan.
Wow! This album is so much more mature and really highlights how great of a voice she has. Hope she gets some recognition because I only knew she did acting!
sing for me, my angel of music!!
I can’t stop listening to her voice. Not only beautiful but talented actress and singer ughhhhh 🥵😍😍😘
Great album. If you don't have it you should get it. Every wonderfully classic number on it is a unique winner.
Wow! What a great rendition of this wonderful song. It's right up there with any version - including Crosby and Fitzgerald. I knew Emmy had a superb voice from hearing her (and seeing her) in the films 'Songcatcher' and 'The Phantom of the Opera.' Can't wait to hear the rest of 'Sentimental Journey!'
What a great, great song by Holt Marvell (Eric Machwitz) and Harry Strachey, beautifully reinterpreted. The classics never die!
Phantom of the Opera, Inside Out and now this? Is there any genre of music Emmy Rossum can't do?
This makes me think of old school jazz clubs, old fashioneds, sequined gowns and fur capes, handwritten letters with ink stains and wax seals; middle century New York--glamour and that sepia vintage sort of nostalgia. I love it.
I love your version! Great Emmy!
She's just captivating. I am spellbound.
I am now officially her first fan 🦋
Just noticed I am 😅
This lady is sooooo talented
I made a whole playlist of her songs! And one Just for this song, I listen to it all the time, it's my jam, my LADY JAM!
from "Tokyo Joe," Bogart, Florence Marly, 1949. Dig It!!!!
Great song and cd amazing artist espically because its new music that's sounds like an album from the 40s that's why this cd is so good why is it not no 1 on iTunes it has to be best album of 2013 I'm sure it will be
Again, never heard of her, first time listening to her, beautifully sung and a lovely voice. Renee M
Late to the party but she has a beautiful regal voice, I had no idea Fiona could sing lol.
Thats exactly what I thought O.o
...............You do know that one of her breakout film roles was Christine in "Phantom of the Opera"? Do yourself a favor and see it---her voice is jaw-droppingly crystal clear and heart-melting! And she was only 19 at the time!
I would recommend you also check out her other album, "Inside Out". It's more of a new age album (similar to the likes of Enya). Emmy actually wrote many of the tracks on the albums.
+locutus94 she was in the movie, "Nola" and, "Dare"
+Islander255 Listening to her speak in roles & interviews doesn't even hint at the warm tone & clarity of her singing voice.
Beautiful
Absolutely beautiful
She is the best on shameless. And kills it on the microphone.Ur the Best Emmy
I don't normally listen to female singers, especially ones from the present day but goddamn she's actually really really good I'm pleasantly surprised.
omg she sings!!!! i love this women, shes going places. shameless rocks!!!
She's the best, talent and beauty.
She's so great!
Fantastic talent. Must buy the CD.

These foolish things, remind me of you

Oh, how the ghost of you clings
These foolish things, remind me of you
Mmm, remind me of you
Remind me of you
They remind me of you
Emmy's Beautiful voice is a true utter Perfection, that is as pretty as her face! ; )
what a wonderfull voice and a so beautifull song !
Perfect!
Mr. Sinatra will have been proud to hear such a lovely voice cover his song.
ConArtistsFilms Sinatra’s song? Billie Holliday, Sam Cooke, Ella Fitzgerald and a dozen others sang it better than that glorified lounge singer.
Love love love it !!!!
i just listened to this. wow! excellent job. this is what i call music. i'm hitting reply.
So beautiful!!!!
so inlove with this song
Wonderful
How can I like this 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.......times ?
Heart You, Manuela!
this song is so underrated :V
angelic voice alive.
Emmy rossum beautiful voice 😍
★★★★ Outstanding delivery! ♥
Just an amazing woman. And gorgeous
Perfection. She sings that with a kind of innocent lasciviousness which could disarm the most ardent misogynist.
AMAZING !!!
Great !
mmmmmmmmmmmm, i love this song!
Splendid.
Love this so much (:
my gosh this girl can sing high [ phantom ] then she can sing like this my ears are going ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
Great song...
This is way out of left field, but did anyone else find this cover because of "Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom?" Ennio Morricone did such a wonderful instrumental arrangement of this song for the credits, and a while back I went on RUclips to find more covers, and I was so excited to find Emmy Rossum did one! 😍 Loved her since I saw Phantom of the Opera in theaters.
I had no idea this was in Salo.
I turned it off long before the credits.
@@tooleyheadbang4239 It's in the opening credits (the Ennio Morricone instrumental arrangement, obviously not this Emmy Rossum version). And also the closing credits.
that picture would look great as a print hanging on my wall
Hermosa interpretación.
i love it
"What'll it be, stranger?" *Whiskey!*
