I cannot wait for the entire 2nd Manassas campaign. For some reason it seems to be the hardest battle to research here on RUclips. Thank you for everything you do in bringing these battles back to life.
@@WarhawkYT Dude im telling you i type in 2nd Manassas on RUclips and get 1 or 2 5min videos with no real details. Definitely nothing as detailed as your videos. Soon as you post the battle you have yourself a new patreon member lol. Jkn ill probably jump on your patreon anyway.
@@WarhawkYT i just watched it, wanted to before i replied I definitely enjoy his battle maps. He presents the terrain well, and he always tells good stories well like Jackson being confused for a farmer. What I think sets your videos apart is setting up the strategic situation. Not to say one is better than the other, any creator that presents CW stuff is great to me.
I hope you include the quote about Pope who signed his dispatches: "Hedaquarters in the saddle" to which the confederates replied: "Pope had is headquarters where his hindquarters should have been"
I've noticed and will commend the increased detail in the map, and there's been a clear progression in the quality of your editing and narration. From the beginning however this has been the most excellent and comprehensive rendition of the American Civil War. Especially being able to watch it unfold respectively!

All right! Been waiting for the start of the Virginia Campaign! Warhawk is the best animated civil war channels on RUclips. I always smash the like button before viewing Warhawk videos. They never disappoint. Thanks for the post. Cheers from Tennessee.
Fantastic as always, this campaign is one of my favorites, and you're off to a great start. Looking forward to the rest. You already covered Seven Pines, and now you're covering 2nd Manassas. Once you get to Murfreesboro/Stones River, Chickamauga, and Cedar Creek, you'll have hit all my favorite War Between the States campaigns/battles.
I love your work! I have been reading through Shelby Foote’s 3-volume narrative for the past year and these animated visuals are absolutely wonderful supplements!
Another job well done, 👏 I look forward to the continuation of this campaign. I also appreciate the drawn out orders of battle/command structures for the Army's, it would be nice to take a closer look at them outside of the explanation of the videos
I always get a little chuckle at the animation you use for the "appearance" of a new leader or his force on the map. I always hear a "boop!" in my head as the new placard springs up and into place!!! :D
Love history !!!!! Especially American history hands down the way guys breakdown explain it go about it can get enough!!! To me is just gave me a clear vision why general Grant is one of American heroes right next to George Washington!!!! Keep up guys I appreciate your work!!!!
@@SoulKiller7Eternal i dont know about that. Sheridan had a massive number advantage and the Confederates had a different mission, threaten Washington. Kimball had success at Kernstown but was that really stunning? pretty weird circumstances and still didnt really wreck Jackson
Good job with those European names!!! One you might have erred on, however is Krzyzynowski, which might sound closer to "Sheh-sheh-NOV-ski". This one is a surprisingly good idea!!! I know a bit about Cedar Mountain and 2nd Manassas, but less on the build-up to these summer battles, with the political wrangling also going on on both sides.
The battle of the 2nd Manassas was General Lee wait for Pope to make his move. Lee moved accordingly and smashed Pope when he made his move. Lee completely out fought Pope and it could have been a lot worse
Hey Warhawk crew! I was so happy to see this posted up when I woke this morning, right on! Thanks and I can't wait to see the rest! Hope y'all are well! Take care!
I honestly wonder why Lincoln chose Pope over Grant to bring East. Pope certainly had success at Island 10, but that’s about it. Grant had already won at Henry and Donalson and captured Nashville.
Oh boy, here we go. General John Pope… the man who doesn’t know his Headquarters from his Hindquarters… second in greatest arrogance only to General McClellan.
Then said Lincoln unto Pope, "You can make the trip, I hope, I will save the Universal Yankee Nation, To make sure of no defeat, I'll leave no lines of retreat, And issue a famous proclamation."
2nd comment for the Algorithm. For Bobby Lee to call Pope a "miscreant", Johnny Boy has a whole lot of hurt a coming. LoL. Couldn't happen to a better fellow. Can you say " damyankee"? Cheers from Tennessee.

I also chuckle every time I hear mention of AP Hill's "Light" Division. Wasn't anything 'light' about that monster formation!!! 😮
one of the most ironic formations of the war.
Franz Sigel… oh boy… the guy that failed in the valley before David Hunter… how many Generals lost face before Phil Sheridan rode down the Shenandoah.
Sheridan would've pushed through Stonewall I think.
I know Kimball easily would've.

lol the Northern Virginia campaign is so ironic in some ways.
