I didn't realize how different my high school was until years later. We were in N. Dallas, most of our parents worked in high tech companies and made good money.
We had different Senior trips for every club and organization. I think the band went to a resort in Mexico, I remember they did the kite water skiing and scuba and had a blast.
I was in Drama Club, we spent a whole week in NYC and saw 4 of the top Broadway plays, then ate at famous restaurants like Mama Leones'. Carol Channing was on our plane going there, and she was a doll! When she heard we were drama students, she gave us a pep talk and told us we were all fabulous. We all fell in love with her.
But then, this was the 1970s when our school systems were well financed and big businesses loved donating equipment and money to schools. Many of those companies gave students internships even before they graduated.
I reached adulthood thinking, "Man! Life is going to be GREAT! Nowhere to go but UP!"
      Then, they elected Ronald Reagan...

Heidi got this shit on national tv. On my middle school class trip, I had just started my period and the water from the Viking Voyager soaked my shirt and pad and I had blood all over my lap. My friends ran me to the bathroom and we rinsed my shirt in the sink and dried it with hand dryers. My friend went to the gift shop and it was the first time I used a tampon. Wet, embarrassed and in a public bathroom.

I'm glad you had good friends to help you do damage control in an embarrassing situation. At a water park class trip in 8th grade, someone went through my bag, took out my favorite bra and left it on the ground. I loved that bra, but I was too embarrassed to pick it up off the ground when all of my classmates were laughing and asking whose bra it was.

Eugh! Your stories are so gross! I hate that! But yeah, I mean, I guess if you have to slough out the blood-rich lining of your uterus at an amusement park, that's probably the best possible ending. Unless instead of blood it was money that fell out. I don't know.

Load and unload were easy but scan was the best part. One hour at a time where you can sit and watch the boats go bye before they go down the big hill. It was peaceful as it allowed your mind to wander, just had to make sure people were still following the rules of the ride.
