I have a Louis Vuitton vernis bag but it was painted brown when it was purple do you know how to get the paint off to get the original coat?. If the paint wasn’t chipping it wouldn’t bother me but it’s starting to chip.
Marinara Maddy you should be able to Remove the paint with 100% acetone
You're kids screaming made me lol so hard...what about using black dye on the zipper part? I love the matte look on the Vernis btw, excellent 😁
Real life!!!! My leather dye doesn’t work great on zipper rails so I choose to use a fabric marker then clean off the brass.
Is it just yellow Vernis that won’t take black?
No! It just happened to be this particular bag.
Jean do you have experience with Vernis pieces where the lining peels and how to fix it?

Great job. I have a yellow reade pm vernis in great shape except a round circle stain right in the middle that is red. Bought second hand thinking i could remove the stain but no go. Now got the suggestion to die it but scared to even start. Your thoughts?

I recommend buying a junk piece to practice on before trying a large piece.
Hi Jean.. I finally grew balls to dye my vernis heart coin purse..
I prepped using Angelus deglazer which stripped the shine off..
Now I'm happy with the new color.
Thing is, i want the shine back.
How do i do that? Is that even possible?

I’m so sorry for the delay! I know this late, I would try Fiebings saddle lac. It’s trial and error and can be tacky; which some people don’t like but this my best advice. Feel free to contact me on FB @luxe2point0 for a prompt response!

Hello I restore handbags as a hobby and I enjoy the process. Just remember nothing is perfect….research videos on RUclips and you will learn from others mishaps. It’s truly rewarding in the end. 😊
I apologize, been battling cancer for the past year. I would encourage anyone to do it, it’s my passion. The thing is, I didn’t make a great return on investment. I put in hundreds of hours and barely broke even on a lot of pieces. I think some people could be profitable, I just wasn’t there yet.

I have a Louis vuitton Marly dragonne clutch and it has a foul odor inside the odor transfers to my hands when i use the clutch can you suggest what should i do?
Cecilia Falcon is the lining still in the clutch?

Cecilia Falcon I can’t say without seeing it, but I would suspect the odor is coming from the lining in the pocket. I have removed the lining and it improved the scent.
