- This is the story of the racial terror lynching of Howard Cooper that occurred in Towson (Baltimore County) MD in 1885. Cooper's is one of at least 41 lynchings known to have occurred in Maryland between 1854 and 1933.

so explain what today's world has to do with what occurred in the 1880s? very little of what we know/hear about the past is written down aka recorded - right or wrong we are not part of the past just as the past is not part of today

The lynching never would have took place had he not attacked the little girl ,which he admitted to doing where is the outrage for her.
He didn't attack the child. This was a way to keep black men from voting. I wonder how people would survive such a time as it was. Those in power found a way to keep us out of the loop by terror.

@@barryhollon468 because at that time a group of black men had been allowed to vote, and they wanted their candidates in office instead of the one picked by whites at that time. And also their community had grown to a sizable community and the whites were afraid if the people of the black community had their way they'd be out of power.
