you do such a great job on these videos and I love how you make conversation with your daughter while you do it. that thing looks amazing just like it is,
really enjoyed your tutorial.I have just started leather work and watched lots of tutorials but you explain the work a lot better than the others thank you and can't wait for part two.
I invested in a set of shoe makers knives. A set of four. A have a favorite. I use it in a pen holder grip down the blade. I can cut pretty intricate shapes with it. If you wet the leather first, it is easier to cut. Also the grain orientation is important, just like working with wood. Cutting with the grain gives a better cut. Once a blade is sharp, it only needs a strop loaded with jewelers rouge to keep it that way. Strop a couple times before cutting. Works great. I am making a colonial style sheath for my hawk
I love the tutorial videos man. I can't wait to get my tomahawk sheath and belt loop from you! My brother and my two cousins/brother's from another mother are going to be so jealous. They all have SOG Fasthawks but when they saw my Cold Steel Pipe Hawk, felt it's heft and felt how smooth and well they throw, well you know the rest. Once they see my Wolfe Custom Sheath they will be jealous all over again ha!
Hey man great video. i havnt worked with leather besides my sheath, or so called sheaths. lol I really appreciate you showing this vid. Alot of great tips and i cant wait to see the second part. I'm going to have to go back and search your vids to see how to make a pattern. I just layed over the blade and gave a 1/2 inch the entire way around and hoped like hell it would work. lol thanks so much bro.
sweet, nice work and tutorial. i know were to go on the tube for instructions when i need help with leather work .you have the patients of a plumber. lol. ..bill
How much did you charge or do you charge for that loop and tomahawk cover cuz I've got I've made them myself and mine are nowhere near as pretty as yours very interested maybe by have you make one except for me LOL
5:17 "In my eyes, I'm just not that...[searches for a polite word, then changes course]". 'Profligate' was the word that came to my mind, followed by 'wasteful'. There's nothing wrong (and everything right) with frugality. If we all did our best to conserve our resources the planet would be in better shape. When the SHTF, the wasters will be out of blades, but you'll still have plenty. 😜
I have put things on a dashboaed of a hot cat in the sun to dry... I want to make something to carry a fiskars x7 hatchette because the plastic case cannot be carried on my belt. My durt belt is too big to put any tool over so I need to make bigger snap on straps for everything. I also want to make snap on straps to secure my duty belt to my regular looped belt. I am thinking nylon webbing but am having a time trying to figure out what snaps, what snap tool or hammer and punch set, what size webbing .. and I am looking all over Amazon and reading reviews

Never thought to sharpen up the "disposable" blades! Excellent advice!
No problem man. I'm cheap. I make them last as long as I can.
