    I have the same shock and planning on the same servicing. In the original manual it shows two oils 5w and 15w. Is it not necessary? Also, where did you get the spring for 15? Thanks for the great video.

    • @goodtimesmtb

      I did end up using both oils but in my case a higher weight oil would have been fine because I was Dirt jumping. If it was for trails I'd use the 2 oils.

    Great video. I just bought another bike with a Toro 318 solo air fork. So did it change the travel from 100mm to 80mm with the spacers on that new air spring? I'm gonna buy a air spring for it. Look like you can make it 80, 100 or 130 travel. Is that correct?

    • @goodtimesmtb
      @goodtimesmtb 2 года назад +1

      Thank you! Yes! So my old air spring was messed up and kept letting air into the lowers and popping the seal. So I ordered a new one and yes, you can do 80mm, 100mm or 120mm I believe! I actually went from the 120 to 100 being its for a dirt jumper. I may be wrong but thought it was 120 stock anyways.

    Hi, enjoyed the video, wonder if you can help I Have a Rockshox recon Tk fork, it only compresses down about 25mm then seems to hit something hard, every thing is open re preload and lock,, , it should have about 100mm of travel, its not an air fork so I gather there's a spring inside, my bike is 26"' and about ten years old, thanks

    Nice video! I have a Tora 318 fork on a bike I just got, so this vid will help out big-time with servicing it. I don't think the guy I bought the bike from ever serviced the fork, and it's a 2009 model bike, although the fork runs perfect as is, but I'm just finicky like that.
    Anyways, is there a reason you didn't do the upper damper service while you were at it?

    • @goodtimesmtb
      @goodtimesmtb 2 года назад +2

      Thank you! its super easy to do and user friendly! The only reason I did the air spring was because it was messed up and it was cheaper to buy the entire air spring assembly with new o rings and everything and given that was all that was giving me issues, I just replaced that and the seals. It's a great fork and recently sold it due to upgrading bikes and forks!

    • @Beiberhole69RVA
      @Beiberhole69RVA 2 года назад +1

      @@goodtimesmtb , I found a new air spring for $15 so I'm just gonna replace it, instead of putting new o-rings on the old one too, but I'll do the damper service as well. I'll probably record it and put it on YT, so I'll tag you for credit.

    How much fluid do you add to each part of the forks?

    • @goodtimesmtb
      @goodtimesmtb 2 года назад +3

      I believe it was 130ml in the uppers and 15ml in the lowers on the compression side and on the air spring side is 6ml upper and 15ml lower. You'll need 5w for the uppers and 15w for lowers. Hope that helps.

      Hey there! So missing some info here, what fork? Year? Ever been serviced? If it's older it could be too little oil or a seal is leaking so a overhaul would be in order.

      Thank you! The seals and wipers along with the air spring are from Amazon. (No LBS near by) and the oil is something I've had for quite a while from my first MTB. It was from a Dirt bike shop. As you can see super simple to do and I've been using my Dirt Jumper a lot and it's never felt better! Thanks for checking it out! Reach out with any other questions!

Almost every model fork has a servicing PDF to follow also so I try and follow those especially for the first time! Knowing the torque for certain bolts and oil weight is huge and those write ups usually have it all!
