This song was is a bop! Second fatest song for the 4th gen to get 100 milion of stream , 300 perfect all kill, still n.1 on the korean chart, n.1 on billboard.. this song was a HIT for them!
It sounds to me like the top line in the chorus is coming in slightly ahead of the beat. Could be part of the reason the first chorus sounds like it comes out of nowhere, along with there not being a typical pre-chorus build up. This song definitely gets better the more I listen to it... but that seems to be a common trait with Dem Jointz for me.
Yah dem joints definitely sometimes pushes the vocals ahead or behind when they do music and there are a bunch of cases where the drums he plays don't even line up to a grid in some songs he just kind of plays them and lets it feel a little bit loose which also emphasizes that
Hey, being a K-pop producer, can I pick your brain on something that has been driving me crazy lately!!!! Please forgive my ignorance as I am not a music pro! Why do so many girl groups in the past year or so (seemed to start with New Jeans?) use this fast percussion beat that often overpowers the song and sometimes never lets up (i.e., just keeps going throughout all parts of the song)? So many groups are doing it now! I don’t even know how to describe it, but you know it when you hear it. This sound is getting old really fast. I don’t know why they all jump on this bandwagon. Is this a conscious decision? Does some label or producer say, “On our next song, we need to use that fast beat everyone is using today”? It is making every song sound the same and unoriginal. I tend to skip these songs now on my playlists. I like a good beat and EDM and something to dance to, but I find this “sound” almost hard to listen to. Just my opinion and observation. Am I the only one who is noticing this lately? Is there a name to this beat or style, and why is becoming the new sound of female K-pop? If you listen to just these few off the top of my head, they all have a similar beat!!! New Jeans (“Super Shy”, “Ditto”, “ETA”, “New Jeans”) LE SSERAFIM (“Perfect Night) (G)I-DLE (“7Days”) Itzy (“No Biggie”) Twice (“One Spark”)
So I'm not sure if you've seen some of my older reactions but a few months ago I mentioned we were going to be seeing a lot more of that breakbeat style music they call it Jersey club. And what happens is about a year ago that sound is what a lot of groups wanted to try and go for when they were looking for songs so a whole bunch of those types of songs were picked probably four to eight months ago and they are all just being released around the same time but the wave for that sound is already over so I don't think you're going to be hearing too much more of it in the near future
Thanks so much! The irony is I am actually a Jersey boy from the “Jersey Shore” who spent many nights those Jersey clubs!!!! 😂. Thanks again. I am glad to hear to is a phase that may be ending soon. May be being 50, I am becoming an old fart! I love a good banger song like Supernova and SuperLady. I just can’t handle that beat. Would be fine in parts of the song, but I find it overpowers and drives the whole song.
Love the dance break sampling 1982 “Planet Rock” from Afrika Bambaataa!! Being a 50 year old American male, that was my jam back then!!!!
I didn't even realize they did lol
Aespa productions are always sick, not only supernova
aespa and Dem Jointz cooked again
Catchy Music.. Aespa is on top right now

The MV looks sick. The song is very catchy.
