    This week we are presenting an analysis of “The Young Prince and the Young Princess,” the third movement from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. This slow movement is characterized by a gentle melodic line decorated with abundant arabesques and colourful chromatic harmonies.

    Pairing this wondrous music with the wonderful images from Lawrence of Arabia was a stroke of genius.

      @@-MomentsMusicaux- a friend tried to get me to watch it once and I was so tired I dozed off throughout all of it. For a few years now I’ve been itching to give it a real serious watch, which will practically be my first time. I’m excited for it.

      However, it was unsatisfying to not be able to see the sheet music in the last section. I think there would be ablot to analyze there aswell

      @@Alexander-oh8ry I think it's a good trade-off, and you can find the score on IMSLP.

    I love this channel! A hidden gem for sure. You should do the third movement of Pines of Rome.

    Wonderful analysis. I'd love you to tackle some of Joseph Marx's orchestral music (for example Idylle, symphonische Nachtmusik, Fest im Herbst or even Herbstsymphonie), wonderful, underappreciated and utterly underanalyzed, wonderfully orchestrated and harmonically complex music.

    More analysis of musics which contains modal passage would be a great help for me. I always give you my deepest appreciation on your dedication. 😊

    0:34 (last bar) i7 half-dim chord should be iv7 half-dim..?

    • @-MomentsMusicaux-
      @-MomentsMusicaux-  28 дней назад

      You're right! That should have been labelled as a half-diminished over the pedal or as a full D7 with the E appoggiatura. In both cases within a momentary lydian colour.

    • @biko45
      @biko45 28 дней назад

      Sorry I don’t understand. Which 4 notes makes that half-dim chord according to your harmonic analysis, if it is labeled as C: i7 half-dim?

    • @-MomentsMusicaux-
      @-MomentsMusicaux-  28 дней назад

      @@biko45 it's a mistake. It should be labeled #ivø or just the E circled as an appoggiatura to D
