Kinda late to this comment lol but meeeee. I watched like 3 triathlons yesterday 😂some archery, javelin throwing, artistic swimming, tennis, rowing, long jump, etc. 🤷🏽♀️
As somebody who has never seen a hammer toss I’m surprised by how many of the throws were invalid. Goes to show how difficult the sport is, even at this level you can never be quite sure
Getting a decent throw is super easy. If they were tossing it like 60m, all would do it really easy. The difficulty is trying to push that extra strength through and that is OD hard in the last half spin before the throw. It’s a fun sport. You should try it if you ever see it. Just throwing something is fun
Keep in mind that if you do not walk out the back half of a circle it is a foul, so often times if the thrower sees that it is a bad throw, they will just walk out the front giving them a foul, as it doesn't matter at that point since the throw was short anyways.
@@Zyvux. that's very true. It can be a dangerous habit though- I've seen throwers who got a great throw on round one but chose not to keep the rest as they weren't as good as the first. They ended up tied with another thrower and were credited with the next place down- one spot out of a medal. Reason why? The tie is broken by the next best throw! Happened a couple of times at the Olympics!
Favorite part of video is Ms. Price's reaction after final throw. The training and the sacrifice to get to that level of competition is incredible, and then to win it even more so. Congrats to her and all of the other athletes in the field. Fantastic win.
I've recently tried hammer throwing for the first time. I'm 21 and been doing athletics (or track as i believe the Americans call it) for about 14 years, but my sports club is quite small and this year we finally got the material to be able to actually do this. And in my experience it's not as hard as you might think to throw it (throwing it far is a completely different story of course). It's basically impossible for the hammer to smack you in the face because of the outward momentum it has when you're spinning, and finding the right direction isn't as hard as you may think because you start with the ball at a low point and you have it high up at the point where you want to release it, which allows you to keep track of where in your rotation you are and when you have to release

A lot of child athletics events don't have it so it's not that common knowledge but I think most athletics clubs will have hammer throw equipment to use so it shouldn't be too obscure. I learned about it at the same time as the other throwing sports like shotput, discus and javelin.
Some states in high school offer hammer. Other than that shotput/discus throwers that compete in college may pick up the hammer since it's included in all meets at the collegiate level (unlike high school).

Gwen wouldn’t have been busy being an activist if we didn’t live in a country that was racist and unfair towards black people. Saying that about price, when she has no idea what it’s like being a black woman is insulting. I won’t deny that she’s athlete but think about what your saying
@@angelaaddo7018 Are you black- because I am, and I think this is the greatest country on earth and her activism is liberal race baiting garbage. She is a puppet for the left. Her net worth is estimated at between $1-5 million, so not sure how terribly oppressed she is. She, like Colin Kaepernick, saw themselves losing their mediocre athletic abilities and decided to become their own misguided civil rights movement. She screams her “activism” and pouts when the focus is on better athletes. A true hero there huh.
@@angelaaddo7018 I thought about what I'm going to say. Berry Shit The Bed!
@@angelaaddo7018 went to Walmart today got cut off and yelled at by guess who? So gross, loud mouthed, obnoxious and racist!
Deanna Price has one of the best amazing personalities of any woman I've ever seen . That's a real beauty
Finally a sport in which I'm considered fit!
Jajajajajaja
😂😂😂
Mom bod the event 😂
I'm impressed, but how did any of these women even discover that this is a sport? We didn't have that at my track and field events lol
A lot of child athletics events don't have it so it's not that common knowledge but I think most athletics clubs will have hammer throw equipment to use so it shouldn't be too obscure. I learned about it at the same time as the other throwing sports like shotput, discus and javelin.
I'm just now learning of this
I just learned of this now and I’m so impressed. I WISH I could do that.
Some states in high school offer hammer. Other than that shotput/discus throwers that compete in college may pick up the hammer since it's included in all meets at the collegiate level (unlike high school).
This is like classic Olympics, I like it.
Absolutely proud of this beautiful athlete!!! 🇺🇸 🏅
Good for you Diana!! I’ve been watching you for a year! So proud to see a woman like me achieve so high in athletics! Whooo!!
I feel so bad for Berry. :(
But do feel the best for Price. No American woman ever got further than 7th place
She’s the only one that looks like an athlete
She also looked so much like Nina simone , so beautiful
@@ininmundamo you know nothing about american sports lmao
Sucks, but her body is incredible.
Really great to get a little bit of sports content with all the football and basketball and hockey suspended. Thanks.
I just saw this in my recommended and This was actually pretty entertaining.
Delivery guy: Ma'am where would you like your refrigerator brought in?
These women: Leave it at the front door, I'll use it to warm up.
Total Class Act representing the USA.... CONGRATS!!!!!
they look much happy than people in any other sport discipline.
1:20 she called Belarus lady Bolgarian
Imagine picking a fight with these ladies thinking they are just chubby but then you see the biceps when they flex- 👁️👄👁️
You definitely don’t want to be confronted by any of them in a dark alley somewhere if they’re determined to seek revenge for something you did to them!😄
Am I the only one who has no idea what's going on here but still ended up crying when they were talking about Diana Price at the end? Absolutely amazing
These beautiful souls showing exactly how I spin into the club.
Great job Price! Hope to see you again representing USA and women everywhere.
😳 Berry’s body is amazing....in the most respectful way. Holy Moly
Yes absolutely beautiful!
What? She looked like a man. You gay or what?
She got what she deserves.
You turn your back on your country and get dead last in the Olympics?
👌
@@max-3158 she does not look like a man !! You hateful punk ! Every girl there was buff also so why are you only hating on her ? She probably wouldn’t look your way anyway ! She’s too good for you
@@max-3158 you’re clearly the gay one , she’s a beautiful female but you hate her cuz you’re in the closet 😘
Mighty congrats to the champion!! Very inspirational!!
Oh yeah, to all 3 of them. And thanks to remaining 7 who were trying their best.
Deanna Price is absolutely wonderful
Two years ago and I'm still crying tears of joy for Price. She's the quintessential American.
Price is priceless❤
8:50 "It's a quick turn around for these hammer throwers". You're jokin'!
I'm new to watching track & field, but that was great!
The athlete's emotions are just amazing to experience. Congrats, DeAnna!
Yes their emotions are running very high for those few seconds after the throw.
Welcome to watching it! Be sure to check out the men's shot put for last year's championships as well.
@@firefox8505 Thanks for the recommendation! Just watched it and it was insane!
Three of the Top 5 throws in history at the same meeting! (Not to mention Kovacs taking the lead at the last round).
Just hope we can see something like that next year!
@@lf546 Exactly! Maybe we can get a new Olympic record in 2021 as well!
@@firefox8505 Definitely! I mean, Romani finished fourth with a 22,53 (already higher than the OR). Let's hope this delay doesn't mess up their shape too much.
Thank you for representing the USA!!!
Congrats on taking 1st place!!!!
YOU represented the USA with CLASS and HONOR!!! Thank you again.
Have a great July 4 Independence Day!!!
Price is so awesome! Berry is such a letdown! This has been my favorite event this whole olympics!
Smh ur talking like u could ever get to the finals
7:15 she got them Chun Li legs. Holy
She’s oppressed
Klymets "lightly built"
Lady, she's has not an ounce of fat on her. It's all muscle.
It's cause the other ones are "sturdy built" if you know what I'm saying LOL
She's freaking RIPPED that's for sure.
Imagine bringing a bad grade home if one of these women were your mom?
Dad: "Honey. Why is there a hole in the wall shaped like our son?"
Lol I'm so happy I wasn't drinking king or eating. Dude you killed me
Just love the growls from all of them. I want a compilation of that lol.
Price will be World Champion again! A real American Hero!
