Thanks you. esp. action. What screen keyb visualisation are you running? Good to hear your custom sounds. Please 1 with Funky FM with more distortion wah + echo (please). 👃
Hi Yotam, This was a very nice review, and it gave me more insight into the possibilities of this keyboard. I think I am now convinced to purchase it one day....👍 Musical greetings from the Netherlands.
@@YotamPiano Dear Yotam, I've been playing a Roland VR-09B for years, and it has worked well. But now this keyboard is quite worn out.... So, I'm looking for something better in terms of sound, playing possibilities, and more durable. (Roland is a lot of plastic, unfortunately).....
@@fransroosen8808 I owned the original VR-09 for a while many years ago ! there is absolutely not comparison on every category the Yamaha is MILES ahead !
Hi Yotam, as a YC73 owner i totally agree with your opinion. Such a great Gigging Keyboard! Best usability of all my previous keyboards and i owned different Synths / Workstations from Roland, Korg, Ensoniq and Yamaha in the last decades. For rehearsals and smaller venues i'm really thinking about the smaller YC61. Only thing that is concerning me a little bit are user reports of noisy keys after using the board for a few months. Especially the black keys are affected as far as those reports says. Maybe it's not a thing anymore in newer build models. How long do you own the board now and did you notice any annoying key noises that occur after using it for a while? Anyway: great video, great playing and nice songs you haven chosen to play. Make it a great day! PS: Just subscribed and wishing you more subs!
Many thanks for your kind words and support mate ! About the black keys I can confirm the reports, they do become noisy after a very short while. However, in live gigs (or even when playing with headphones at home) you do not even hear a slight of it. I didn't mention it in the review because it took time to develop. I am still very happy with the YC61. It is not a perfect board, but I don't know of any perfect board so for my uses it is very good :)
@@YotamPiano Thanks for your fast reply and your honest answer. You are right: There is no such thing as a "perfect board". But the YC Series is close to perfect for my needs (Band context and wedding gigs when there is no Grand available). Have fun at your Christmas gig today and have a peaceful time!
@@CremerSoul Thanks a lot! I'll be taking the YC for that gig of course. Have fun with your YC73, I think you've made the best decision if I'm being honest. I actually like the action of the 73 and extended range better, but since I only use public transport and have to walk a lot on foot, it would've been too heavy for me with the stand and everything included. The 61's other bonus is that it fits in small spaced bar gigs easily.
@@badnimbus8932 Thanks man! Good question I am not sure. What I do know is that you can't use what's coming into the YC internal inputs as a USB audio interface signal.
No, you can't. I wish they would have given the YC the same capabilities for the audio input as the CK-series have. The YC is just routing the input directly to the output without any effects (and as Yotam already mentioned not to the USB Audio Signal neither). All of this said the YC is a great Gigging Keyboard with lots auf capabilities. And yes: great playing 🙂👍🏼
Nice video very helpful.. i have a question, have you ever tried to add sounds from an ipad or iPhone? Like korg module? Because i don't like the Brass Sounds on the YC.. if you can demonstrate adding a brass sound from korg module app.. that would be so awesome. If it can be done and sounds good and easy to do i would definitely get this keyboard.. because i tried one time in the music store and i like the keybed very much just like you said in the video
I have both a YC-61 & a CP-73 & yes by usb connection to either iOS or Mac, you have added options. I love it. I generally connect to my iPhone & iPad for gigging
@ MkSensation , Korg Module Pro , Pure Synth , FM Tines , Sunday Keys, Korg IM1 , & a host of others. Those are a few apps on my iPad. Various VST’s on my MacBook
I never tired a Crumar 61 but from impressions I've read online and by A/B-ing specs, the YC61 is superior in pretty much everything. Costlier too , though.
I've bought several digitals under $5000.00. The voicing is not consistent with other keys, (piano sounds) and always have a few keys that are way too loud or way too soft for playing specific melodies. If it's just a toy you want, get one. Why do you think a real pianist only uses a real acoustic piano. Digitals suck.

Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to haul my grand piano to the Christmas gig I have today.
You're welcome. Enjoy the tinny voicing of your digital and soft & loud keys.
