    Four starters combined for 74 points in an 82-72 win over Jackson State for Mississippi State women's basketball on Thursday inside Humphrey Coliseum.
    "Man, what a great game," head coach Sam Purcell said. "We knew it was going to be an absolute dog fight. For us to be strong enough and outrebound a team that is really strong on the boards and most importantly find a way to win, I couldn't be more proud of my team as we go on the road here for two more games before Christmas break."
    Senior guard Jerkaila Jordan surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her Mississippi State career on 19 points and 12 rebounds in 39 minutes. The totals marked her fourth double-double of the season and the eight of her career. Graduate student center Jessika Carter recorded 17 points and 18 rebounds for her 32nd career double-double while playing all 40 minutes.
    Carter has totaled 48 points and 31 rebounds in her two games since returning from a three-game absence.
    Sophomore guard Debreasha Powe finished with her third career game with 20-plus points with 21 points behind 5-8 from behind the arc in 32 minutes, while graduate student Erynn Barnum added 17 points in 25 minutes.
    Graduate student guard Lauren Park-Lane finished with eight assists in the effort. She has led the team in assists in 11 of the 12 games.
    Barnum and Carter turned in the Bulldogs' first eight points after the tip in what turned into a physical contest early. The Bulldogs recorded 12 of its 19 first-quarter points in the paint and led 19-17 at the end of the initial 10 minutes.
    The Bulldogs finished with 44 points in the paint on the night behind Carter and Barnum's performances.
    Jordan stole an inbound pass and took it coast-to-coast splitting two Tigers' defenders for a reverse layup finish near the middle of the second quarter. The steal forced a Jackson State timeout and closed out a 10-3 run over a two-minute stretch that pushed the margin to 35-23 with 6:22 minutes left before half.
    Mississippi State outscored their visitors 25-16 in the second quarter to secure a 44-33 lead heading into the locker room. Mississippi State has led at half in now all 12 contests this season.
    Carter corralled one of her 11 offensive rebounds on the night and finished in traffic with five seconds left in the third quarter to give Mississippi State their largest lead of the game at 67-54.
    Jackson State continued to convert on late possessions near the end of the shot clock, but the margin would not get any closer than seven for the remainder of the game after the Tigers opened the fourth quarter on a 6-0 spurt.
    Mississippi State outrebounded Jackson State 57-37 with 27 offense rebounds in the game. The Bulldogs are now 31-3 when outrebounding their opponent under Purcell.
    Mississippi State hits the road for a pair of contests, starting with Memphis at 2:00 p.m. CT on Sunday.

    Blonde wig had so many fouls that went uncalled . This game was poorly officiated!! Jackson State got no calls
