    I watched this video the other week before I ran the Celebration FL Half Marathon. Appreciate all the great advice! Ended up hitting my goal and ran a 1:19:45 PR, taking 5th.

    Hey man I’m finally back and ran a few races the last few weeks, and I have finally done it. I have qualified for the state meet for the mile in a time of 4:34, finally all that hard work has paid off! And I also ran the 800 and I ran 2:08 but it was like 15 minutes after the 1600 so I had barely any time to recover. But I’ve finally done it.

    My best half marathon is a 1:26 but when I ran my first marathon a couple months ago - Nov. in NYC, I went out a 1:25 for the half. I came back with a 1:30 and was able to finish at 2:55. This is my second year running since 20 plus years ago.. I don’t know if you remember me but I’m still running the Boston Marathon and that will be my second marathon so I’m looking to sub 2:50 🤞🏾 I’m getting use to distance running now and I kind of like it better than sprinting. I believe I have natural talent and I really want to get faster at my age of 45.. So, I’m running the United Half in March (NYC) so I still have time to go under 1:20 which is my goal.. also in 2 weeks I will be running a 10k to see where my speed is at… Thank you for all your content.. it is extremely helpful for me as I am moving forward in my running journey..

      Nice work Reginald. Now THAT is what I am talking. 2:55 is legit and you hit a negative split en route? Well done. Keep me posted on how United goes and you definitely have a sub-1:20 in you based on your times.

    I managed a 1:22 in Berlin three weeks ago after initially breaking 90 in a TT in September '21. I have a smaller race tomorrow and hope I can go out with the leading pack and get pulled along through 80

    Thanks for that information Nathan! I’ll keep in mind for my next marathon; building 4-6 weeks base before start my sub 3; I was thinking to run 4 days, two easy, one long run and one tempo run. But now finishing your sub 1:30 half plan, I’m at week 13 and It has been a training with a lot improvement.
    What do you think will be my next plan? Sub 40’ 10k to get more anaerobic base prior to star the marathon base? My marathon will be Oct 09 (Chicago); starting 16 weeks plan (Jun 13) and base May 15; racing 10k May 08 and have one recovery week. For that 10k I only have 11 weeks but coming from a half marathon 16 weeks training plan. What do you think coach? Thanks for your time!! Appreciate that.

      @rundreamachieve  2 года назад +1

      Great work Ivan. I am sure you are going to go into that half in phenomenal shape. Sub 40 for the 10K would definitely be a good next step. A 1:30 half is equivalent to a 40:43 10K so you are looking in the right direction. Keep me updated. You are on your way to some bigger PRs.

    I’m doing a 7 mile tempo at 6:08 pace this week. I’ll be 12 days out of the race on that workout day. I’m also doing a ladder fartlek workout as well 10 days out. When should I stop the tempo running and freshen the legs up? Pb in the half rn is 1:23:58.

    • @rundreamachieve
      @rundreamachieve  2 года назад +2

      I think based on what I am reading that is good plan you have. Last tempo run 12 days out is fine. I would do a 3 mile run at goal half marathon race pace 4 days out from the half. Everything else looks good IG101. Let me now how it goes. Make sure to play it cool in that first 7 miles, turn the screws in that last 6.1 miles. Hydrate well during the race. I want you mentally rehearsing running that goal time DAILY leading into this race. 10-15 minutes, before going to bed and when you first wake up in the morning.
