- I want to try fishing with a pole spear, but I'm too cheap to buy one. So I made this DIY pole spear. it was quite easy little build.

I'm too cheap to buy CNC machines too. Thays why I dont have one. And no they cant. So I had to make barbs.

raymond bailey aluminium (it's weight and density) gives the spear momentum and more kinetic emergy( in simple words) Empty pipe gives neutral byouancy Stiffness of the pipe also counts.Thats why wood is not used in contemporary, factory made polesperas. Also cheap wood can bend or even crack in the water, proper wood is more expensive than alu. Of course you can use anything for your convinience in DIY spear. For ages people were using wooden sticks and it works for sure;) forgive me my English;) and good luck
@@lelolek I think he means the aluminium metal broomsticks that are hollow and usually white on most modern brooms, for example: Oates brooms , Sabco brooms and Mr Clean brooms.

Cant remember anymore. Maybe the pipe was 12mm.

a bit to much glue for me but i suppose it will work for a while but it will break after hitting the rocks over and over again
whats more concerning was the rubber... do not add hard object what so ever to the rubber like you did (the balls) just make a tripple knot with the rope instead. it will wear the rubber and if you accidental shoot yourself by slipping or the rubber breaks you will have a very bad day.
and zipties is a big nono, you tie it! its a disaster ready to happen.

Kyllähän tuolla osuu haukeen ja lahnaan helposti. Kätevämpi tuo on kuin perus atrain. Kutuaikaan toimii hyvin, kun kahlaa rantavedessä haukien perässä.

i guess it's better quality then chinesse shit from amazon BUT how many people has CNC machines in their houses??? AND you call it DIY??? come on.... try to do it only with rawplugs and hand tools:)) Like me:))))) I'll tell you more, some native people in polynesia are still making spearguns with hammer and knife only. THIS IS DIY! beat that;)))) Anyway: very nice made spear, cheers
