- This week we have a jam packed shipping video! Join Alistair in the shipping room for a look at the custom guitars leaving us for their new homes featuring a range of colors and veneers across different models.
Ever wondered how to get the most out of the Virtuo? Davy K is here to take us through the sounds and capabilities in the Virtuo's pickup systems and how he utilizes them in a live situation. We look at his live rig and how to build a loop when playing live as a solo performer.
Built to be the ultimate do-it-all hybrid guitar, the Virtuo features both acoustic and electric pickups onboard with a range of tones and even 13-pin hexpander MIDI outputs for even more possibilities. Watch on for more details.
As part of the recent Emerald music tour, we had a special silent auction to raise funds for a cause very close to Emerald. Our friend Kristel Ouwehand from Snowland Art in Tibet has set up an amazing community to give fine art and handicrafts training for young artists to study art in an ethics based environment. A unique Emerald guitar, hand-painted by artists in Snowland was auctioned as part of the tour with all the proceeds going to support their amazing cause.
A big thanks to the generous donations from Jeff and Mary and all those who donated to this worthy cause.

Yes, more tech talks! 😃 I would like to see and hear shootouts between different string types. For example tone and playability differences with different string gauges; phosphor bronze, 80/20s, and nickel wound; steel vs. nylon on the Kestrel, X20; round-wound, flat-wound, and polished rounds… 🤓
You got it! We'll be featuring more tech talks on a regular basis and have plans for a string shootout coming in the near future.
I'd have loved to see some midi effects demonstrated with the Virtuo (along with acoustic and electric sounds). Perhaps in the future you could explore that in one of the shipping videos?
Thanks Mike, we'll have more content on the MIDI effects and sounds possible in another video. We could spend a long time going through all the different combinations and will have to save some of them for more videos to come. Stay tuned!

I was wondering what he would be running the Pod Go into live while he was switching between acoustic & electric sounds ?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Davy runs his Pod Go straight out into the PA system when playing this rig.
Great shipping video as usual. I noticed the X30 6 string now has the profiled finger board end, but the 12 string has not. Will both X30s be available with the profile?
That was an additional request that I made on this order for an upcharge. The X30 regardless of 12 or 6 string does not come with the profiled fingerboard end.

Another great shipping video, but with regard to the Virtuo, the acoustic volume knob has a push pull action. Is this functional at all, if so how?
@Chrislayeruk1 On mine it changes the tone slightly, but not in an “in your face” way. Very subtle

The incorporated push/pull switch selects two EQ settings for the acoustic output -- the classic, dark ghost sound, and one with a boost in the mid-range (around 2KHz).
Do you have one that makes beer ?
