Another thing to think about is that Vaders suit was flawed on purpose by Sidious to make it easier if he ever had a change of heart. Malgus has used lightning in a fight before, all he would really have to do it zap and it’s game over. Malgus isn’t the best dueler either, but with that major flaw, and others in Vaders Suit, Malgus would probably take the win.
Malgus' only single weakness was truly his pride and his aggression. He would often get lost in himself in the fighting and occasionally lose focus of what was truly important. But that never seemed to hamper his 1 on 1 ability, if anything fueling it, being absolutely relentless in battering down his opponents blow after blow, he can easily overmatch someone his speed but is shown to have some difficulty against someone faster than he, but Vader is as fast, maybe slower, so that wouldn't be an issue either. Anakin's only experience was mostly the clone wars, but he still butchered many, many Jedi. But Malgus, and the entire Old Republic timeline was just built different. Malgus is described by Sidious as the "perfect sith" and even what he tried to make in Vader. The one sith who truly broke his shackles and completely devoted himself to the dark side. He wasn't powerful because he was a sith, most sith put themselves first, he was powerful because he put the dark side first. He put his power over his pain and suffering, which is why he killed Eleena.
