Thanks for the great comparison, Chris! I noticed the biggest difference on the bridge pickups. The Collings sounded more clear and chimey - different but not necessarily better. As an owner of both brands, I'd say you can't go wrong with either!

I gotta go Eastman on this comparison.

I liked the Collings more, but not 3x the price more. One minor difference - but major for me - is where the neck joins the body. The Collings has much better access to the upper frets.

Upper-fret access on the Collings! Collings sounds sweeter

Collins is awesome, i love the Eastman as its a great value with little compromise

They both sounded good. I agree that the Collings was at least a bigger sound and had great sound quality. However, the Collins to me sounded scooped like a Martin D28 vs a D18 and the Eastman sounded more balanced. But the quality of the columns was definitely obvious. It just lacked the nut separation for me. A lot of that is the maple in the neck on the Eastman. The Eastman is also punchier.
I would have to sit in the room with these two guitars personally. Great job as usual buddy.

Nice video Chris. I am biased as I have an I-30 that I bought from you a couple of years ago, one of the nicest guitars I have ever played. I do think the Eastmans are a great guitar for the money but the T64 is a little large for me personally as I am not a large person. Keep the videos coming, they are great and very informative!

Nice video. You should compare both stack of $100's also.

Collings especially clean but the difference between them I don’t think is anywhere near as big as the price points of both

Excellent demo as I have been considering both guitars & strongly prefer the Collings. Much more focused, better & cleaner bass, mids & treble. Build quality is superior & cutaway provides much better access to higher frets. The Eastman is a great value & has a much more woody/earthy tones.

@@soofitnsexy They're both great instruments! Collings refined and illustrious builds are absolutely worth every penny. But it's also crazy that you can get such a worthy substitute for a fraction of the price!

The only real way to do that test is to hide the guitars' appearance and go strictly on sound.

neither sounds very good. I've owned a few I-35s. Neither of those guitars sound very good. The Harmony comet sounds and plays better, is more comfortable, as well made and far less expensive. Collings always seem to lack soul and I've owned many, as if they were made by a robot. Never played a Eastman.

Is the Harmony comet even a hollowbody? Looks like a completely different guitar..
