This is misinformation. All of us see here a diminishment in our purchasing power, as minimum wage has risen only about 20% but our rents, bills and goods have in many cases doubled over the last years. Try make ends meet when the average rent is 500€ and minimum wage is 780€ and then talk about how great the economy is. The reason Greece has a good appeal to investors is because of our complete lack of regulation of prices by the government for electricity providers, super markets etc allowing for big profits. Also don't forget the ridiculous prices that big funds can get loan bailed out homes and then have them as Rbnbs for tourists. THATS a GREAT investing opportunity but with huge negative societal consequences.
1. Minimum wage is not 780. It is 910 adjusted to the norms outside Greece where there are only 12 salaries within a year. It will be 960 or more in April. 2. Yes, rents have risen. However this is a global situation and there are many Greeks that have significant earnings from short term renting. These people are part of the society too - and a big one - as Greece has one of the bigger proportion of home owners in Europe and in the World. 3. Yes there is inflation. 10% last year and 3% this year. But consider this: Α 12% rise in salaries, equivalent to inflation, would be some 50 to 70 euros more. But minimum wages will be 400 euros more in April. Some 6 years ago were 450 after taxes! 4. There are problems and i accept all your remarks. Life is difficult. But i am asking you, do you have the sense that we get worst and worst NOW? like during the disastrous years 2010 - 2019? The improvement of economy is a gradual process.

Minimum wage IS 780€ ( you can google it - as I did to double check) there have been promises that it WILL be 900 something by the end of Mitsotakis term (in three years from now). 2. I think that we’re frequently dismissing a problem as being also existent in other countries, I am not of that line of thinking. The thing is we created that rent problem to ourselves. Our rent went up during the Golden Visa laws, that is taking away a big portion of the houses for wealthy foreigners ( mostly of the east ) that buy the house - taking it away of the market - and don’t stay or invest in the country but are just using it to get a VISA for the EU, and then live in Germany or France for example ( where the Golden Visa is much more expensive). Also, we are not doing nothing to limit the percentage of rbnds as France and Italy have done in regions. 3. This in a big portion theoretical tho, isn’t it? Because inflation is different for different sectors of the economy. Although I take your remark as a consideration, isn’t the statistic about purchasing power more concerning as it is more relevant for day-to-day economic life? Lots of young people are also finding it impossible to make it without financial help from their parents. But I think that it IS actually getting better for middle aged people who own a place and can rent it in higher prices or put it on rbnb. Hell, for big companies, you could even say that they are thriving! But in my view, that is for lack of regulation in anything : profit margins (see super markets and energy companies), legality of practice ( see tourism scandals of last year ) etc. And that is what CNN and the Economist are talking about when they see in us a great recovery.
I have to insist too that there are 14 salaries of 780 in Greece. 780 X 14 / 12 = 910. I guess you are not Greek so you do not know..There is a double salary every Christmas and Easter. Although, due to my working conditions I don't get the extra salaries because I'm in a specific contract for research funding and we don't get the extra 2 salaries.

Ahahha wtf are you talking about? In 2010 a family of 4 had only one person working with 1000 salary. Today there is no unemployment and a family of 4 has two working for at least 1200 each so 2400 a month. So 2010->1000€ , 2024 -> 2400€… what 7.4 % are you talking about
