Last update I saw Scarle was the only one who wasn't actively losing subs at the time. IIRC their collective ccv has also dropped to under 1k viewers average for most streams. This has seriously damaged their viewership to the point where Niji could potentially fold EN back into JP the way they killed ID and KR branches of it keeps up, based on what they've been saying in their financial reports and investor Q&As.
They do have people for PR, but the issue is they are very Japan centric. They failed to understand what they consider nornal business in Japan is not tolerated in other Western countries, aka what the English branch targets.

However, keyboards inherited typewriter features and dumbing down four quotation marks (plus apostrophe) into just two (' and ") is easier to implement. You can still produce them easily enough on a normal keyboard by using CP-1252 (might see it as Windows-1252). Press and hold ALT and then press 0146 on your numpad (right part of your keyboard with just numbers). Since basically no one does this, the real way is to use a program like Word which autoconverts so-called dumb quotes ("." and '.' are actually used as foot and inch marks in American English btw) into smart quotes (“.” and ‘.’). A lot has definitely happened since you were gone. Others have told you about some of the notable graduations/terminations, but there's also been a lot of growth. Notably, Hololive English has pretty much doubled in size with the addition of two new gens, Advent, which debuted a year ago, and Justice which only just launched a couple months ago. There's also this other new Hololive gen, Regloss, which is basically a 7th JP gen even if it insists its not and is its own thing. They debuted a couple months after Advent.
Aee, cover will have you fund covers too. But they'll pay for original songs, send you on tour, get you a 3d model, big promotions that increase your brand. If you compare both of their stock reports, cover spends wayyy more on talents than niji.
I am surprised you've never heard about any of this. This shit escaped the the VTuber sphere it literally went viral. That said @theArmcha1rExpert did a video on this that you should absolutely check out. The channel owner is a communications major and he explains in detail just how badly Nijisanji handled the whole ordeal and why it is historic in proportion. Definitely recommend checking it out.
Just wanting add things for ya. Nijisanji: only pays livers 2% and keeps all play buttons. Had a stream slandering Doki and sharing legal documents with Vox claiming there’s no favoritism in Nijisanji. Yet Luca was discovered to have someone doing pretty much everything for him apart from streaming. Including Lucaland whatever in Minecraft and signing letters to fans. Luca can’t write cursive. Uki turns out is massively and brazenly racist against white people. Both of them face zero flak for these actions. There’s so much more that is easy to forget. More humiliations come near daily even now. Im sickened by AnyColor’s actions and of those that excuse them. Oh and I just remembered; many of their employees in big positions where professionals should be? Are underpaid high schoolers.
So, in terms of the contract and what Niji offers? Well, an unsigned contract was looked at by an actual lawyer on RUclips. In the contract, Niji doesn't promise you anything outside of providing you a platform with an immediate 100k views on your debut stream. After that, you are pretty much an Indie that is working for Niji meaning that you lose out on 50% supers/memberships, 98% merch sales, 100% sponsorship deals, and if you happen to be sued or there is a conflict with other livers, they will not Mediate or mitigate any damages between the two and it has to be settled by the members themselves. They do have to report back to daddy niji though. And that is just what I remember from the leaked contract. I am sure there is some corrections to what I am saying here, but that is just what I remember. Niji will not help you with anything. In fact, anything you purchase while working for Niji, in the contract, states you have to return when you graduate or become terminated. That includes hardware YOU have purchased while working for them. Also, should you need to travel to Japan for any meetings, you have to pay out of pocket first then you have until the next 3rd of the month to issue a reimbursement document for a chance to be reimbursed your travel fees. Now, again, like I said, there may be some information I have gotten wrong here, though I am fairly certain it is correct. Anything I did get wrong, do please let me know since I am recalling this from memory and I will fix the statement at the earliest convenience.
That's not even all of it. We had MONTHS worth of Nijisanji getting fucked up by the public and other former vtubers revealing more bullshit the company engaged in.

As much as I want to point at the stock dip and laugh about Niji fucking up, it is a lot more than that. Japan's economy is in the shitter right now, many companies are getting hit really hard. The buy backs didn't look good but Anycolor was far from the only company doing that to try and salvage their stock prices.

Well, she was terminated for leaking information, she was accused of having a boyfriend, and apparently gave sensitive info to Japanese Drama Alert, like, other Hololove girls names, and relationship statuses, this led to her termination

A lot has definitely happened since you were gone. Others have told you about some of the notable graduations/terminations, but there's also been a lot of growth.
Notably, Hololive English has pretty much doubled in size with the addition of two new gens, Advent, which debuted a year ago, and Justice which only just launched a couple months ago.
There's also this other new Hololive gen, Regloss, which is basically a 7th JP gen even if it insists its not and is its own thing. They debuted a couple months after Advent.

I am surprised you've never heard about any of this. This shit escaped the the VTuber sphere it literally went viral. That said @theArmcha1rExpert did a video on this that you should absolutely check out. The channel owner is a communications major and he explains in detail just how badly Nijisanji handled the whole ordeal and why it is historic in proportion. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Uki turns out is massively and brazenly racist against white people. Both of them face zero flak for these actions.

So, in terms of the contract and what Niji offers? Well, an unsigned contract was looked at by an actual lawyer on RUclips. In the contract, Niji doesn't promise you anything outside of providing you a platform with an immediate 100k views on your debut stream. After that, you are pretty much an Indie that is working for Niji meaning that you lose out on 50% supers/memberships, 98% merch sales, 100% sponsorship deals, and if you happen to be sued or there is a conflict with other livers, they will not Mediate or mitigate any damages between the two and it has to be settled by the members themselves. They do have to report back to daddy niji though. And that is just what I remember from the leaked contract. I am sure there is some corrections to what I am saying here, but that is just what I remember. Niji will not help you with anything. In fact, anything you purchase while working for Niji, in the contract, states you have to return when you graduate or become terminated. That includes hardware YOU have purchased while working for them. Also, should you need to travel to Japan for any meetings, you have to pay out of pocket first then you have until the next 3rd of the month to issue a reimbursement document for a chance to be reimbursed your travel fees.
Now, again, like I said, there may be some information I have gotten wrong here, though I am fairly certain it is correct. Anything I did get wrong, do please let me know since I am recalling this from memory and I will fix the statement at the earliest convenience.
