My interpretation: the lyrics of the song tell of the moon wanting to be a mother, and this video represents a woman who wanted to be a mother but never could. She is in touch with her inner child, as we see when she is playing with snow in the beginning. When she sits in the church, she closes her eyes, and everything that we see happens in her own mind. The chorus of girls represents both her own younger self and the children she wanted but never had. All stand still initially because these are all events that either have happened or never will, and therefore are only activated by her imagination. The organist turns the pages but never plays, as if waiting expectantly for a child that will never be born. We see the process of growth and maturation that all girls go through and that she went through growing up: playing games, gossiping with friends, staring into a mirror and wondering if they are pretty enough, and, of course, dreaming of being a mother, as represented by the girl with the doll. At 3:30 she breathes into the chorus, breathing life into them in the way God breathed humanity into existence. The girl's doll is taken away from her and then just as cruelly is mercilessly discarded, symbolizing the shattering of her dream of having children. She opens her eyes in the end and is returned to her present reality, although now we no longer see the doll that she entered with. The absence of the doll at the end indicates her loss of the children she never had, and the loss of what could have been.
