    I cant seem to get by concrete block to be vertical. Every time I try the concrete block goes vertical on the side of the connection and member.

      Hello, to make the concrete block vertical, you need to assign it to a plate with a vertical plane.
      See the article about how to work with concrete blocks:

    Any option to add rebars on pedestal,

      No, the concrete block is simplified

      but can be modeled in IDEA StatiCa Detail

    Are we designing footing for base plate or just pedestal for base plate? In idea statica
    And why we are getting larger dimensions of Concrete block?

    • @ideastatica_en
      @ideastatica_en  Год назад

      Hello, what you do in IDEA StatiCa is you design the connections and you get a code-check of conrete in compression under the base plate and shear.
      www.ideastatica.com/support-center/check-of-components-according-to-aisc
      You do not design the reinforced concrete block itself.
      Size of the concrete block that would pass the code-checks for anchors depends on multiple criteria - mainly the problem is the concrete cone breakout

      Hello, thanks for your question. COncrete splitting failure check is not possible at the moment.

    Can Ideastatica use a concrete Foundation Block with reinforced steel bars?

      Hello, thanks for the very appropriate question. The answer is: "Not yet." :-)
      See our theoretical background describing how CBFEM treats the structural model of a concrete block.

      But we are really aware of this very common customer requirement and exploring the way how to achieve this.
