This game was the first and only fable I played. And holy moly I never realized who were doing the voice acting. I actually love this game. I was surprised so many people hated. I mean I understand I didn’t play the older games before it so my views will always be different. It was my first RPG before skyrim. I love the combat. Wish I could play it on my PlayStation.
I think you hit the nail on the head with this video. The thing that I didn’t like about Fable 3 was how they changed the locations too much. A lot of it seemed like it didn’t fit in with how the locations were on Fable 2, considering the short time that had passed compared to Fable 1 - 2. I think they changed too much and should have kept certain areas somewhat the same but building on top of it instead of changing it completely.
Just started playing this after a friend recommended it. My first impressions were horrible, camera movement and controls in general were utter shit. Apparently it got better so I kept playing, and now here I am with a bricked savegame from a 10 year old bug that still persists. Stuck in understone with no way to progress, and no way of going back. Fuck this game man, fuck this game.
Wow. It's fascinating to find content that is the complete anthesis of one's own beliefs. I had to check the comments to make sure this wasn't a parody. Good reality check for me to to never mistake my opinions for reality. I still despise this game though😂(apart from the voice acting of course!)
I kind of flip between 2 and 3 as to which I prefer. A big part of that was how Fable II never got a PC release. It's not an insurmountable problem as my Xbox 360 still works, and if I were desperate I could buy an Xbox One or Series console to play it on, but it's really quite annoying to not have the complete series on both platforms.
as i've played fable 1 in the past 6 months or so, while i personally enjoyed it. various things make it a little hard to honestly recommend. -cannot divorce wife without beating/killing her. -lack of npc interaction. -not being able to use weapon and magic in some towns which made no sense if evil. -inefficient UI for changing gestures, gear ect. no place to rest in the guild (starting location!) some aspects of fable 1 certainly did not age well. and honestly by 2005...i like to think they could have done better. they didn't even keep the acorn promise! never forget! i never played 2 or 3. if given the chance...i think i'd only give 2 a chance. 3 looks like shit to me. not surprising though, since it came out only 2 years after 2 did....(the 1st game was like 4 years development for refence and 3-3.5 for 2) in the end, i'll be looking out for the new fable coming. see what they are going to do with it. personally hoping they get rid of the guns. if they really want to include that...have 1 special gun obtained AFTER completing the game as a bonus.
Why would you divorce your wife (so she could get divorce money) when you can just kill her and pay less money? not being able to attack in certain places did suck. lack of npc interaction? You could emote to group so i don't know exactly what you are on about same with ui (you can put gestures on 1-9 keys just like anyhting else food/potions/spells. in the guild i think was a place to rest in the kitchens near the forest (though i may misremember).
Fable one will always be my favorite because I grew up with it and having replayed Fable 2 recently I think perhaps I was a bit harsh on it but I still feel like the DLC they did for two was kind of lackluster and I wish there had been more post game that you could do The thing to keep in mind that both the original Fable and Fable 2 suffered from was not enough development time was even worse with Fable 2 than the original and Fable 3 was even worse for the development crunch. Having said that Fable 3 is definitely a fun game but I almost don't consider it a fable game aside from the fact that it continues the story it's got charm as you said but it's really flat in a lot of ways and there's not really any reason to go back to certain places. Mourningwood doesn't freak me out like dark wood or Litchfield graveyard I will say the silver pines area is kind of creepy but it's basically just a rip off of knothole Glade. There's also no mini map which was a complaint of mine and Fable 2 that they managed to make even worse in Fable 3 with how you pretty much can't access a map and see where you are
I was about to dislike the video even tho I enjoyed it after hearing the fact a fable fan doesn’t enjoy fable until you said “which is my shame really” lmaooo
@@playit2724 honestly though. If you were into the first one you would see story and aesthetically it leads the franchise atleast in my opinion. Hope the next game in the series goes back to its roots a bit!
I played the first fable for years time and time again going back every so often to reunited with my nostalgic memories, but the only experience i had with any other fable game was 2 and it sucked bc my copy was bugged and the cut scene for the music box would nvr activate so that sucked and i nvr tried it again
If you loved the first Fable, and you're still interested in more. Maybe go back to Fable 2, hopefully a different platform or some time would've fixed those problems?
I didn't own an ex box so I have to take your word for it. I agre the big issue for Fable II is lack of a PC release. I play 3 due to it being on PC. It was without a doubt one of my favorite games, but it does lack replayability like Skyrim. It can't even compare to Dragon Age Origins as far as its story, but I played the first one and was okay yet again. Fable series while interesting. It just often made me feel to small of a scope and never that terribly interesting. For me Dragon Age Origins nailed it. I spend so much time going back and replaying the Dragon Age games over even the Elder Scrolls or Fable 1 and 3 since I still don't have an Xbox.
I guess everyone's favourite Fable is their first! 😂 I think for me the smaller scale story felt more personal, and all 3 of those games just ooze charm! That said, Dragon Age is a hell of a game, and getting 'beaten' by it is no shame!! 💚
@@playit2724 True to that. I honestly wish games were more like back then. As games have gone on. The RPGs are getting less fun. I loved Fable for its quarky style. Dragon age has such depth. Elder Scrolls for the vast worlds. Now like say Fallout 4 even most RPGs now are less RPGs more action games. I love a good story that just grips me or in the case of Fable almost made me laugh at times.
The main character design in Fable 3 is ugly hate it. Fable 2 is superior with a better main character design. Although Fable 3 has some beautiful background music in it and that's the only good point that i can give that game the rest is ugly especially the main character design. Other than that a great video keep it up👍
Thanks! I don't see to much difference between 2 and 3. Although I guess the more expressive faces do lend themselves towards the more over the top... I kinda like it though! 💚
Finding chests with 100 and 250 gold became completely useless in fable 3, when you early on got thousands of gold every 5 minutes of your propertys. It was just a annoying waste of time when your dog barked because all chests were useless.
Recently watched a game review for both Fable 1 and Fable 2. Goes in depth how Fable 2 IS a fun game, but is basically a copy and paste sections with an even dumber main story than its predecessor. That RUclipsr haven't done a review for Fable 3 as he heard it was the worst in the franchise, and Fable 2 was bad enough in his opinion, which leads me to this video. I agree with points you make, but i feel a lot is based on nostalgia, which is the most biased opinion/critique of something. However, everyone is free to voice their opinions, and this was mine. Like the franchise as i myself have nostalgia tied to it, but even so, i can see how outdated things are and i feel it never reached its potential it could have. It had interesting and innovating ideas and world building, but tripped themself with some of the worst main stories and "important" NPCs in the gaming franchise. Dont even let me get into the "on ice" momentum movement the games have. Anyway, not many will probably read this anyway, as this vid is like a year old at the point of me posting this comment, but this was my opinion of some parts of the video and on the franchise itself. Have a good day.
I imagine most peoples favourite Fable is their first (hence why I love Fable 2 so much) I think 3's main problem for was that it felt a little more like a product. Mainly because of all the padding out the game does to fill up time But yeah, I like you say. I don't think anyone can deny that the stories got sillier as the games went on 😂
@@playit2724 Fable 2 was also the first game i played in the Fable franchise, which is why i myself is biased in that regard, but if i view it in comparison to modern games and its other installments, then it is as the reviews i watched by the RUclipsr The Salt Factory, as he goes in depths into the first 2 games in the franchise.
