      A toenail clipping, a few lizard tails, and some rejected Shekel Coins with Trump's head on it , minted in Israel that can be melted down to make ammo. A food card with rations is probably what most get, rent already deducted. State apartments. Most live in government owned apartments.

      Denmark here ...I earn around $255 to $360 a day, depending on the hours and day of the week, and my present part-time job as a night watch with no degree required (though I do have one) is nothing fancy. In comparison a security guard with 4-5 years experience like me, earn 23,400 rubles = around $253 a month, So I earn more in a day than they do in a month.

    • @1191Russ
      @1191Russ 8 месяцев назад

      It doesn't make sense to compare how much you spend for buying products. You should calculate your % of costs from your average monthly salary. Ex, in the US you earn 5000$ but you spend 20% of you income for grocery. In Russia you earn 1000$ for example, and if you also spend 20% or even less, then your costs for groceries are the same in both countries. So there is no sense to compare incomes and prices. You should compare percentage of costs from your salary for basic things. Same for internet payments, rent payments, etc.

    • @Greg-io1ip

      Notice that if the economy in Russia was functioning, perhaps there would be lots of people in the stagecraft prop grocery store? They lock up Russian civilians for saying anything factual about Russia's failed economy. If McDonald's can't operate in Russia to make money due to exchange rates of the worthless ruble, what better ran company in the world is an example of Putin's incompetence?

  • @DarkonXBL
    @DarkonXBL 8 месяцев назад +88

    The reason why he only spent $104 on groceries in Russia is because of the exchange rage. What I'm getting at is that the US dollar is worth more than the Ruble. Now you could say, "but it's still only $104.00". Yeah, but keep in mind that the average salary in Russia is $1,125.00 a month so $104.00 is roughly 10% of your monthly salary. Not to mention that was $104.00 for one week's worth of food for one person. So you'd spend rougly $400.00 a month on food, which means that would be 35% of your monthly salary just on food. That leaves you with $725 for rent, water, electricity, heating, etc. Yeah, try surviving on that.
    Life in Russia is not glamorous and a so-called Conservative like Carson should know this.

      It’s more than just number crunching. If America is doing so much better, then why are more and more families relying on food banks with big American paychecks? Russia performs better in PPP, where people can live a decent life, but maybe not of luxury. Whereas in the US, the wage gap is increasingly ridiculous. You’re either having caviar or canned tuna.

Our supermarkets are the ones you typically find in western and southern Europe + farmer’s markets filled with local products. My point is even in my country (relatively close to Russia) the remnants of communism times are fewer and far between (at least in Transylvania). How the fuck can an American 🇺🇸 fawn over such displays of poverty in supermarkets and pretty much everywhere around him?!? What regular Americans need to understand is that if this became their everyday reality would also mean poverty. Would mean regression in every way possible from what they get to say on the street to what they drive, what they eat, what they learn. I do not think they really wanna live the Russian lifestyle.

      I believe you are missing the point. Obviously Russia has nice places, such as clean public areas or normal supermarkets. Only rather ignorant Americans would think the entirety of russia would be some slum. The majority of Russia is rather poverished though. The US is similar, it has the best and richest examples of capitalism, and purely impoverished, homeless ridden, drug addicted areas blocks away from the shine. Which surprised me quite heavily as a Dutch person. This little tour by Tucker Carlson is just such a strange piece of 'out-of-touchness'. The 'amazing Russia' he's showing is basically just Germany. It looks rather similar. It seems like some odd attempt to trick rather stupid individuals into believing Putin has it all figured out.

I bet Tucker has never touched a shopping cart in his life, therefore grocery shopping must have been so exciting for him.😂 BTW, the coin slot is not there to prevent theft, b/c clearly $0.25 for a cart is a steal of a deal. The shops are well stocked (nothing like the 90s after the fall of the Soviet Union) but prices have quadrupled since she and I were last there in 2019. This is in a provincial city (not Moscow).
