I just loved that they showed Hedmans face after the leafs went up 3:2, just to see his expression changing from scoring in the first, thinking this is gonna be an easy wrap, to his utter disbelief and realizing the leafs are not gonna go away without a fight. I think this pretty much sums up the series so far, the Lightning thinking that surely the leafs are gonna crumble after game 2, game 4, beginning of game 5, but they always seemed to come back. Way to go Toronto, now close it out in the next game!
Jason Spezza was never on this team to score goals. He is here for those locker room moments, the defining moment of this game though was the TV timeout, Spezza got off the bench to talk to Campbell, the net was locked down after that.
You're the best man. The passion for the Leafs is spreading even here in Wisconsin! I was born in Toronto and as a kid moved here. For years I've been made fun of, but now ppl want the Leafs to get it done!
Or not who's to say. Tampa got away with quite a few calls as well so let's not over exaggerate the Stamkos slap-in-the-face third. It did him good remind him who he was playing with . that's all.... just like the calls the ref didn't call against Tampa what goes around comes around that's all....
I sure hope Spezza gets offered a job on the coaching or development staff after retiring. I'm sure he will, but worth saying that he's deserving of it
Remember the 2019 Bruins and the Canadiens of last year. One 3peat quest will end. Either Tampa's cup run or Toronto's 3-2 collapses/exits in the first rd
And don’t forget, Spezza spoke to Campbell during a commercial break in the first period as well, to reassure him and tell him the team will get their game together and he shouldn’t be too rattled. He is such a leader and such a teammate.
I wrote Willy off after that Game 4 debacle even after he scored those 2 goals. I thought, "he's not willing to lay his body on the line and that's why they lose". We all know he can snipe and he's arguably the best skater on the team. His slapper in this game to take the lead was a shot only a handful of the best goal scorers could make. However, the most impressive play was his power move across the face of the other 88 to try and beat him on the far side, past an outstretched pad, into an awaiting TB defender just drooling to hit him. Willy knew he was going to take a hit and he did. That's the moment I realized they may just win this series.
We'll see it in game 6. In this game, for the first time in the series, the first team to make a goal didn't win. Also, for the first time the winner didn't score 5 or more goals. We'll If they can overcome another stat: Vasi's streak after a loss. I congratulate the Leafs. They are showing character, unlike in recent past. That's remarkable.
The turning point in the game was Spezza’s moment with Soup. What an acquisition getting Spezza, and the smarts of Keefe for putting Spezza in the lineup instead of Simmons and Clifford. Those two are bad news.

On Leafs first goal, Nylander’s shot hits the skate of Tavares just before it hits the Lightning player’s skate. There was one angle that showed this clearly.

Not gonna lie. I almost shut the TV off in the 1st intermission. Then I seen Spezza come up to Campbell during a TV timeout; he never talked to the bench. I knew something was coming, did I expect a come back like this? What a game. Best game the leafs have played in years.
Great video Steve, one of my favs to date. The Nylander goal reaction (on the 3rd Leafs goal because he probably will get credit for the 1st) was the one you should have shown. Such great emotion from him, something we never see from Willy. Rielly is heart and soul so I expect that from him. Thinking Willy got his wake up call and this could be very good for the run. GLG let's go close this out in Tampas building and take that torch with us.
I legit called the series before the puck drop for game one. I said either we win in 6 or we lose in 7. As a leaf’s fan I’ve seen to many 7s, both at home and on the road, go wrong. If we can get the barn rocking in the event of a game 7, and if we can overcome ourselves in a game 7, we may just have a shot. GLG!! 💙
After all this, the Leafs had better win this series. This series is following an almost perfect Hollywood narrative to break Steve once and for all, from crushing it in games 1 & 3, getting destroyed in game 4, and then coming back in game 5 when it looked like all was lost.
Funny you mention a vision. When I was a young boy in the fall of 2010, my team having just blown a 3-0 series lead in the playoffs last spring, I had a vision of Zdeno Chara lifting the Stanley Cup. What it would look like on TV, how the presentation would go, how it would feel. You can tell me I'm lying or making this up, but I swear to you, I saw it in my mind. Watching that happen in real life was ultimately different than I imagined in my vision, but what a crazy rollercoaster ride it was. I hope you get to experience it next month, Steve.
I can imagine how nuts Steve will go if they do pull this off against the Lighting. But what happens to him if they make the conference finals? The finals? Maybe even having the leafs win the whole thing? I think he’ll collapse of joy. I’m calling it now if the Leafs beat the Lighting either in the next game or in 7 they go all the way to the finals. As long as they don’t play the Avs in the final. Leafs could win it all. I think Tampa is the toughest competition they’ll have in the eastern conference. And the only team that is as scary as Tampa for leafs fans is the Avs

So myself and a couple friends were watching the game at my brother's house and in between periods, we'd play Ping Pong. Before we did, I wanted everyone to say something positive about the Leafs (they were a little down after the first). We each said something, things started clicking, we were feeling better... then the third period. What a rollercoaster of emotions! When Nylander sniped the lead, we went nuts. When Tampa tied the game, the room went silent, besides the odd complaint. Then when Marner and Matthews had the 2 on 1 and scored the GWG? The 4 of us nearly woke up the whole neighborhood! Moral of the story? Stay Positive (+)! The game's not over till the final horn goes. 1. More. Game. That's all we ask 🙏
nothing better than a come back win in hockey. its amazing. I know it's not Leafs but I was so happy when the Avs came back and won game 4 against the preds. that Makar pass to tie was even better considering it was for the go ahead goal
I think the Leafs win Game 6 and break Vasy’s 16-0 record after losing a playoff game because the Leafs ARE the demons! If that happens wouldn’t be surprised to see them go deep in the playoffs.
Somehow underrated moment. Jack saving that breakaway in the second. Leafs have ALL of the pressure and Tampa gets a break - historically that’s when our backs break. But not this time!
Way to push through that video and way to keep this leafs fans hopes alive throughout this season and seasons past. You are the unsung hero of this fan base. I AM IN.
2 things that drive me crazy that this leaf team does…1) refuses to shoot the puck on the PP until they have the perfect shot…2) the stupid blind back passes they do a lot while in the denfensive zone…cost them the tying goal…but just glad marner redeemed himself and matthews finished it off…i hope they finish it off in game 6…GLG!!!
Incredible win by the team after the terrible start. This is was the team that battled for success in the regular season. Come Thursday they can CHANGE the narrative again. Many are already making the assumption for game 7. Let's actually PLAY game 6 and see what happens. All in - always. Go Leafs Go!!
I picked the Leafs in 6. On schedule. I also said Spezza needed to have a chat with the boys.... turns out he had that chat after the first period, rather than before. Gonna end this thing in Tampa.
Just want to say, in my NHL 2022 franchise mode with the Montreal Canadians, the Habs won the first overall draft and in the same year the leafs won the cup. Now it's just a video game but the Habs did win the lottery draft
I have no reason to want the leafs to win the cup, I’m a St Louis fan and want them to win every year. However I want to see the leafs win just to see this man’s time, effort, and suffering to finally pay off
08:14.....That just sounds like a polite way of saying that they were embellishing :) They weren't... for the most part. McDonough went down easier than Pam Anderson on a Crestliner
That was a Hockey game. The end in doubt some very serious concern . The ghost of playoff past lurking . Now Steve and leaf fans with all respect Game 5 win a season with the most team points Mathews 60 goal season . Marners season it all means nothing if they don't! Not able too cannot take that very small but huge step forward to step on the throat of Tampa Bay Lightning take that Hespler CCM javelin and drive it through the heart of the two 2 Stanley Cup Champions then their heads.. This is will be their defining moment
Isn't it fitting that the deciding game 6 not only will be the Leafs finally winning a playoff series, but they will be doing it with back to back wins over the back to back champs against a goalie who hasn't lost back to back playoff games in that two year span?
Whatever the outcome of this series (hopefully leafs win), it will go down as the most officiated I’ve ever seen. It’s crazy that once the whistles get put away, the game starts flowing both ways. Leafs took like 1 penalty from 2nd period till the end. I think Tampa took like 2 and one was too many men. Huge character W from the leafs. Some heart was shown.

Go Avs vs Leafs in final!!
Dads an aves fan and my mom and I are Toronto so I’m hoping so!!!!
@@MrLizrd that would be an amazing series and an intense 2 weeks in your household lol
Leafs and avs would be absolute chaos. What a crazy series it would be
The fact that Steve is already losing his voice is hilarious. HUGE W for the buds
The podcast is gonna be a doozy tomorrow considering Steve's voice tonight.
Regardless of if the Leafs win or lose this series, y'all know that Steve's series-ending video is gonna be legendary.
I can't wait.
Hockey Canada's official list for exercises to get your heart pumping: High Knees, Jumping Jacks, *Watching a Leafs Playoff Game*
Way to push through that video and way to keep this leafs fans hopes alive throughout this season and seasons past. You are the unsung hero of this fan base. I AM IN.
Love the mentality! The Leafs don’t need to fear the boogeyman, they ARE the boogeyman!
14:18, we're 5 games in and Steve's voice is struggling. Break out the lemon, honey, and coconut oil!
Hedman was FOR SURE pre-celebrating
I was at this game and omg the emotions i had there 🤣🤣 this team is taking years off my life
2 things that drive me crazy that this leaf team does…1) refuses to shoot the puck on the PP until they have the perfect shot…2) the stupid blind back passes they do a lot while in the denfensive zone…cost them the tying goal…but just glad marner redeemed himself and matthews finished it off…i hope they finish it off in game 6…GLG!!!
Best reffed game of the series. Finally felt like playoffs.
I love LFR I wake up looking forward to your review after every game.
Steve "The Oracle" Dangle
have a feeling that, should TOR win this series, the ensuing video from Steve may be his most watched video of all time. i want to see him HAPPY
Steve almost hitting his max heartrate is just 🤯
Hella of a game last night. Rooting for your leafs all the way. Time to slay a dragon come tomorrow night!
Steve Dangle, more like “Steve Blinkle” 😂
L
Steve - Warm tea with honey for that voice box.
Hype for game 6.
Steve, your heart meter during the game was about 10 points lower than mine was.... I am amazed I survived it.... Go Leafs!
Between that game and this video I AM FIRED UP!
Thank you producer Drew 🙏🏼
Also it is kind of funny that Campbell is currently beating Vasilevsky...by 0.01 in GAA (3.53 to 3.54) and 0.01 in save percentage (.889 to .888).
However I want to see the leafs win just to see this man’s time, effort, and suffering to finally pay off
Steve's Allan Walsh impression is spot on!
THEY'RE GIVING ME HOPE AGAIN!!!!!
Can we get that “chuga chuga chuga” bit in next year’s intro?
Yes. Everything you said. And, let’s call it here and now. Spezza for the Win!! Vintage spoke, and they listened.❤️
They got this one Steve. The Maple Leafs WILL WIN game 6 and advance to the second round.
Wrap it up, I’m coming to get it!!!!
I was so down after the first period. Leafs looked doomed. Then they scored, they got one and it changed everything. What a comeback! Lets go!!!
You have never done a LFR round 2 THIS IS THE YEAR
“Hi welcome to my channel since game 7” Steve Dangle 2022
By far the most exciting game of the series regardless of who won
Um.....not regardless
I’m here for the win. You always say people come for the losses but I’m here for the win.
Watch a pending Cardiology consult with Steve Dangle
08:14.....That just sounds like a polite way of saying that they were embellishing :)
They weren't... for the most part.
McDonough went down easier than Pam Anderson on a Crestliner
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣‼️‼️💥💥🔥🔥
Steve, you gave me chills. Great episode.
i love your energy!!! I believe we wont need to see them play in toronto until second round
How poetic would it be that vasilevsky records his first back to back loss of the season on the game thatcends the season?
All things eventually come to an end. Go leafs go
The VISION continues to grow !!!
