    This is one of the most relatable videos I've seen in my 14 years on YT- maybe *the* most relatable. Idk you from Adam, but I'm genuinely proud of you! I experience a lot of similar struggles and mental pitfalls as you described here, but I am so adverse to trying what you've tried as a solution even though I know it'd all help. That amount of change is a bit terrifying and I don't currently possess the internal grit to commit myself to such substantial modifications to my day-to-day.
    Best of luck to you in this endeavor! I know it's very "first-world problems", but I totally get it, and have immense respect for your method.

    The thing that gets me is social media helps with the small updates on family, only reason I like it

      I don't use it for family much but as an artist I used to feel like I couldn't stop. But i have found I am much happier, more inspired, and productive when I am less tapped in with social media. Much more present. In the past I had a friend log in for me and promote my projects during my break and that worked really well

      @@tallskeleton yea plenty of things you see in the world can inspire you, and even if you can’t thing of new things you can combine multiple things. But my point of conversation is what it does provide. Cause I myself also don’t do social media apart from trying to troll it

    I also struggle with my habitual smoking of weed. I'm hoping you're still doing well on the front-- I decided to put it down earlier in December and am sticking to it so far!

    I have similar personal struggles with simply being in my own presence. One of the big bads for me though is media consumption. I often want to cold turkey a few bad habits at once but am usually too fearful of the collective discomfort. How does a friend get the ball rolling those first few days and really commit?

      I think cold turkey ranges in how safe it is for different addictions. Obvious example with alcohol it can kill you. For myself what really helps me is I've found for weed, and social media, cold turkey is the only way I can do it. When I have smaller goals it becomes really easy for me to fudge the rules and half commit, so that is a personal quirk. As for as media consumption I would taper off of your current media in place of more minimal background entertainment that still stimulates you but allows you to think thoughts, and feel present more like instrumental relaxing music or nature sound scapes. And then maybe you could switch from headphones to speakers, and then speakers in the other room, and then just turning everything off and cracking a window. You could also ban entertainment from certain spaces such as the bathroom, taking walks, meditation time, or stretching before exercise. Hope some of these ideas help I'm not a doctor but these are little tricks that I have learned work for me!
