Here's our first ever visit with Jay from February 12, 2000! Watch Dennis and Jay go for a spin in Jay's 1930 Duesenberg. Originally aired in My Classic Car Season 4 Episode 12.
YaMan. Cool cars. Cool dudes. You guys let me enjoy what i can't afford to buy for myself. If ever there was a better way to treat people who love cars, i never heard of it before. This and Jay Leno's Garage are so so good for feeling good and loving cars. I am very grateful for the internet and it's proper use... Thanks Dennis. Thanks Jay. Thanks Cars. p,s... Jimmy Who ? grin.
Michael Olsen yeah man. It’s so common today for people to say “I love the internet” and I feel weird telling older people I Love the internet and I’m always on it outside work. But I use the internet entirely different than a lot of people. For most it’s strictly social media and games. I watch shows like this and documentaries almost all the time. This show and jay lenos garage (both versions but the first one specifically) and a few gun channels I love, make me feel relaxed. I watch them early in the morning and have coffee and I could ask for nothing more.
Very, very regal. Cars today don’t have that panache and class. I could only imagine what it was like pulling up to a fancy hotel with your top hat on.
would love to someday stop by and go for a cruise in any one of your car's..... doesn't even need to be a special one....just a once in a lifetime chance to hang out with one of the coolest car guy's in the world
Amazing piece of History i learn so Much watching these shows!!! .. From Old to New from A To Z ... the shirt gotta go say no named because i rather not. Jay the whole team Thank You!!
yes true. I'd go even further and say cars through the 30s, 40, 50,s...Not so much the 60's save for the Chryslers. They had styling matched by no one. Those 60's Imperials as such were gorgeous. IMHO. Later years had some smatterings of unique styling. (75 Monte Carlos) Now? Shite. Crikey. Yawn, ho hum, next, whatever. lol
First thing I noticed is how raw the look and feel of the show is. Seeing epsodes this early makes me see how MCC matured over the years. love it. Keep up the good work.
my friends stepfather has a shop in shrewsbury ma that built 2 of these dusenburgs for jay leno... i wish i knew which ones...i told him if jay is ever back at the shop i want to meet him
*This is only 3 years old, and the difference between the 2017 Jay Leno and the 2020 Jay is blatantly obvious. Of course, as did many of my fellow Baby Boomers, I grew-up with Jay; through movies and TV, we are even he same age. I've always loved him as a comedian and a man as well. But you have to wonder, how such an obvious and dramatic change could have occurred in just 3 years? Here, in 2017, his sense of humor is still quick, crisp and clear here, and now he so much more slow, tells more 'Old Man Tales', literally, just like I do now! The guessing is over, now I KNOW I'm old lol. Well, at least with Jay, and my other fellow Boomers, I'm in good company!*
@@MyClassicCarTV Thank you... I apologize, I made an assumption, definitely, MY mistake. I wondered how he could have aged so quickly in such a short amount of time. Actually, it made me feel a bit better to see someone else who was aging almost as rapidly as myself... I am an old crippled guy, due to a birth defect, specifically, A Deformed and Conjoined Nerve Route. I am not yet 60 in years. Yet, my doctor advised me that, due to the adverse effects of the birth defect, I am closer to double that age, 125 to 135 in real life terms. Trust me, you don't want to live to be over 100! Why not? IT REALLY HURTS! 👀
How do or run with out a head(s)? If u can please get back to me I follow u an Jay I've just never heard that and I used to race cars had a BBC in a s10 rubbed but I just wanta know NO HEAD....THANKS you fer all ur awesome videos and shows ok but that stash lol idc if u can pls get back to me and let me know either with a video or a diagram....ty so much. I'm ken from guelph ont canada about 1.5 hrs west of Toronto.dowñ the 401 to u hit hwy 6 south Hanlon
Made me think of the rotary engine commercial for Mazda in the early '70s.Piston engine goes: Boing b b boing boing boing boing boing. But the Mazda goes: Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
Yep, this must be before Jay bought his denim shirt and blue jeans Maybe I just don't know Dennis or who he is I used to watch my classic car on TV in the day. Jay is a big car collector I can understand why he gets to drive everybody's car because he is cars. But who is Dennis why would he get to drive everybody's car?
MISS YOU BOTH WORKING TOGETHER . DENNIS and JAY.
you're one of a kind Jay....what could be more fun than a cruise in Dusenberg.....

This video is so nice. My dream would be to drive one of these J's. Such an amazing amount of the best technology at that time.
Two great car guys- Dennis and Jay. Well done, gents.
What a massive cat! I knew they were big, but I didn't know they were THAT big.
Gorgeous colour too. Magnificent automobile.
Very, very regal. Cars today don’t have that panache and class. I could only imagine what it was like pulling up to a fancy hotel with your top hat on.
Great Video. 2 great guys enjoying their passion!
Jay is the class act, just a priceless guy!!
would love to someday stop by and go for a cruise in any one of your car's..... doesn't even need to be a special one....just a once in a lifetime chance to hang out with one of the coolest car guy's in the world
loved it! Nothing better than seeing two car guys get together and talk shop
Love it i seen this episode back in the day ;)
Amazing piece of History i learn so Much watching these shows!!! .. From Old to New from A To Z ... the shirt gotta go say no named because i rather not. Jay the whole team Thank You!!
Cool precursor to the now famous Jay Leno's Garage Even the same format!
He ripped em off!
loving the video's.. jay seems a great guy. :)
TIL that young Jay Leno is current Jay Leno just lower resolution
Man, this goes way back
Jay should have his own personal Clothier. It's more fun when he wears something different, from time to time.
I love it when Dennis and Jay get together. Good times.
Those mating squirrels clamped on his face scare the hell outta me.
Biggest clue about the age of this video is ... No Denim Shirt! Jay is dressed like a TV star. LOL
Little-known Jay Leno trivia: He put that denim shirt on in 2004 and hasn't taken it off since.
and not gray yet !!
Jingjing Liu lol
He was either heading into work and going to a function.
he was still at tonight show lol
Delightful segment.
That's when cars had style and their very own identity.

In my opinion duesenbergs are the most beautifull cars of all time 😍
I agree!
Jay, our Patron Saint of Combustion!
The car need special care and lots of patience.
The supercharged SJ in 1931 would top out at 140mph. That is just insane.
jay leno looked like robert deniro on the thumnnail
back when you were both young guys.
love the Star Trek sound of a message incoming
WATTA HUMDINGER...a majestic motor car.Like a well built RR with horse power and lotsa torque.
my friends stepfather has a shop in shrewsbury ma that built 2 of these dusenburgs for jay leno... i wish i knew which ones...i told him if jay is ever back at the shop i want to meet him
waaw nice car😍
My # 2 idol...Above superman but below my Dad
Only complaint: completely bypassed the aero Walker coupe...my opinion the coolest duesenberg there.
COOL Jay Leno's Duesenberg
Jay you should add a “devel 16 “ to your collection. 5000 hp car
That Devel 16 is nice.

This was shot back in 2000. We all looked better then.

Truly sorry to hear that.
awesome
Still waiting to see the early Bronco get built and driven. :)
Never seen a video on the Crane Simplex car on Jay Leno's Garage channel!
He could have sold it.
jay looks like Robert de niro in the thumbnail lol
So young
They cloned Leno! Where is his denim? That's not J' awesome car collection.

Bob Smith 😂 This Jay Leno i could see cheating on his wife. lmaoo good he doesnt though
Jay u so Handsome!!
Why didn't Dennis's Mustache flatten out at 70 MPH? Is it plastic? Great Show.
Thomas George Castleberry WAX !!
This has got to be a while ago, no denims
What is the car at 4:38?
No new material?
They did the stupid Comet ad twice, then skipped over the one car I want to hear about!
Where's the denim??!!
Made me think of the rotary engine commercial for Mazda in the early '70s.Piston engine goes: Boing b b boing boing boing boing boing. But the Mazda goes: Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
Back in the pole cat (skunk stripe) days...😜

Honestly, I can't believe it myself!
MyClassicCarTV Dennis, with the hat and mustache I could see you driving one of those old cars to the golf course
Talk about low quality. I can count the pixels in this video.
Lycoming engine
A Lycoming is an aero flat 6. This is a Dusenberg with a Dusenberg straight 8. There's no comparison
Paul Standeven Lycoming made many different engines, including this one. It was designed by Deusenberg and built by Lycoming.
